Indian takeaway

My husband thinks I am BU because I always order the same food because I know I like it. He changes his order all the time and is disappointed as often as he is pleased.

I really can't be arsed to buy stuff I might hate - what a waste of a takeaway!

YANBU- I do the same!

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 12/03/2011 20:56

YANBU as long as you always try what your dh orders Wink

worraliberty · 12/03/2011 20:56

If he changes his order all the time, taste his Grin

Tee2072 · 12/03/2011 21:30

My husband is you and I am your husband.

I have only once been disappointed!

Be adventurous! Try something new. Grin

cece · 12/03/2011 21:32

DH and I have the same everytime.

We had friends around recently and so ordered something diffent. I especially liked the peshwari chicken.

ethelina · 12/03/2011 22:02

Chicken dopiaza, plain rice, sag aloo. Nothing else comes close. Smile

He had lamb rogan, it was too hot for him, waste!

YANBU, I am a fussy eater and there are only a couple of things I like from the Indian or Chinese, like you said why waste the money to get something you might not enjoy?

LadyOfTheManor · 13/03/2011 14:31

I change all the time and if DH won't change, I just order something different for him. He eats what he's given.

I alternate - one time a fave, one time something new. it does feel like a waste if you odn;t like it but when you fins a gem it makes it all worth while Smile

RunAwayWife · 13/03/2011 14:35

YANBU I always have one of two things, DP on the other hand almost always has something different

judgejudie · 13/03/2011 14:37

i thought it was racist to say "indian food" so they proclaimed on the other thread Hmm

Bringonthegoat · 13/03/2011 14:39

How is it racist when it says Indian takeaway on the front of the firgging menu?

LadyOfTheManor · 13/03/2011 14:40

Isn't it recipes from India (adapted to our taste)?

Yorkshire pudding recipes are from Yorkshire are they not?

microfight · 13/03/2011 14:54

Oh don't start that again please judge yawn

ICanPluck · 13/03/2011 14:56

YANBU, if you like it, and it won't be a waste of money, then order it. Tell him he is BU for wasting food and money! I very rarely change my order, and if I do, it is to something very similar to my usual order - creature of habit me!

nufsed · 13/03/2011 17:47

I always had the same too, until new people took over the takeaway next to our shop. Their chef has learned how hot I like my food and I've become much more adverturous. Sometimes instead of ordering something specific I just say 'surprise me' and have only been disappointed once - that time I got my DH to swap with me!

Occasionally if I order my 'usual' vegetable biryani they will put in an extra dish to try.

RitaBix · 13/03/2011 19:06

Why are they not called Pakistani takeaways if they are owned and run by Pakistanis?

Is there a difference?

cryhavoc · 13/03/2011 19:14

I always have the same thing. DH is currently out collecting my onion bhaji, lamb vindaloo, plain rice and poppadom.

YANBU

cryhavoc · 13/03/2011 19:15

That makes me sound like a right demanding cow. He is, of course, collecting his own dinner too.

Aah now I have just looked at the takeaway menu and it does in fact state "Indian Cuisine" so in this instance I believe I am safe in calling it "Indian Takeaway.

We have a bangladeshi restaurant and takeaway Smile - am now worried if we are not allowed to call it that.

I tend to stick with the same couple of things from the Indian as it's normally a night off for me and want to enjoy it. But I will happily cook and try lots of different dishes at home, I believe in spreading the disappointment amongst the whole family if its not that nice Grin

Rohanda · 13/03/2011 19:27

we have a (very rare) Nepalese restaurant locally. "Shall we go for a Nepalese?" is never heard.Smile

tanmu82 · 13/03/2011 20:41

we have a Nepalese takeaway right up the street from us too......quite an interesting cuisine - some dishes are very much like indian ones, others more closely resemble chinese dishes....
