If you couldn't afford it you wouldn't be able to do it surely????

slipperandpjsmum · 12/03/2011 17:22

You will regret it in the morning!

dementedma · 12/03/2011 17:23

es, if you can't afford it

Maylee · 12/03/2011 17:26

What will the impact be on the rest of your budget if you do get a takeaway?

BooBooGlass · 12/03/2011 17:26

You can't afford it. Cook something quick and easy instead

KidderminsterKate · 12/03/2011 17:28

well - I think you should, unless it means you wont be able to afford food for the next of the week or pay an essential bill!

go with a chinese, seems to be cheaper that an Indoian takeaway of pizza round her!

AgentZigzag · 12/03/2011 17:30

Naa, how much would you pay to feel a bit happier?

I bet it's more than a takeaway'd cost.

What you thinking of ordering OP?

NettoSuperstar · 12/03/2011 17:31

Um, budget a bit none existent, have applied for benefits this week as I'm signed of work, hence the crap week, but understanding landlord who will wait for rent until it's sorted.
I'm talking £10 btw that I'll be spending, not loads!

OP posts:
slipperandpjsmum · 12/03/2011 17:32

If OP says she can't afford it I guess that means someting else will have to go during the week. We have stopped having any take aways, we used to do the we have worked really hard this week, its Friday, we are tired thing. But it was costing between £20 - £30 which mounts up.

Agree with everyone else who says no - be strong - resist!!!

pigletmania · 12/03/2011 17:33

OOOOOH I feel that same way too, I cannot afford a take a way but want it so desperately

fifi25 · 12/03/2011 17:37

pie, chips and mushy pease for me please op Smile

LaWeasel · 12/03/2011 17:38

You'll regret it if there is a delay in your benefits.

Go and buy some jacket potatoes, way cheaper and just as lovely on awful days...

I know that feeling though!

Grumpla · 12/03/2011 17:40

What about comfort food you can make at home? Macaroni cheese with bacon bits and a massive cup of tea? Eat a whole pan of it for that authentic post-takeaway pogged feeling :)

NettoSuperstar · 12/03/2011 17:40

But I want chicken kebab, or singapore noodles, or salt and popper squid, not jacket potatoes.

Hmmf.

OP posts:
shimmerysilverglitter · 12/03/2011 17:46

I would, in fact I am going to! Salt and pepper squid here too Grin

NettoSuperstar · 12/03/2011 17:49

Gawd, DD wants one takeaway, and I want the other so compromise will have to be made.

Agentzigzig, you are quite right, it will make me much happier.
Sometimes one needs a treat to keep them sane, and mine will be fattening food that is delivered to my doorGrin

beesimo · 12/03/2011 17:51

You can't be good all the time bugger the budget for once and fill your boots. Brigx

DuplicitousBitch · 12/03/2011 17:52

beans on toast. if you can't afford it, don't.

NettoSuperstar · 12/03/2011 17:54

DD hates baked beans and I haven't got any bread.

Takeaway it isGrin

ladydeedy · 12/03/2011 18:58

tip for next time - when I see ready made curries and other "takeaway" style meals on offer/cut price at end of the day in the supermarket, I take them home and freeze them. Then if we're desperate for a "takeaway night" we hvae them already to go... just make sure you also keep mango chutney/ frozen naan breads etc in the house and make your own rice - then you can still get the takeaway experience but without the cost!

Strictly · 12/03/2011 18:59

Oh don't! I'm desperate for Chinese Sad

slipperandpjsmum · 12/03/2011 19:03

I think you prob can afford it really can't you - there is broke and then there is really broke.

Enjoy.

NettoSuperstar · 12/03/2011 19:05

See, I have home made curries in the freezer, I could do a noodle dish easily, I could make pizza, but I don't want that, I want food delivered to me.

We've decided on tandoori mixed grill-chicken, lamb and shish, with naan, salad, rice and curry sauce.
it'll be £12.40 delivered and plenty for tomorrow too.

I love cooking, I really do, but sometimes I just want not to cook, and to have someone else bring me the food.

phooey · 12/03/2011 19:07

Go and collect it, they usually do a discount - and boil your own rice.

NettoSuperstar · 12/03/2011 19:09

Delivery charge is £1.50, bus fare is £3.60 and rice comes with it.
