What ways have you found to tell posters they're being a cock but without getting your post deleted?

Of course you could use calm, reasoned debate.

But where's the fun in that?? Grin

It's not often I feel the need to personally attack a poster, but one of the two times I have I said that if anyone said that in RL I'd feel obliged to tell them they're were a fucking prick (or some such words).

I suppose you could censor yourself and substitute swears for benign words.

If bloody became chubby, and cock became chicken, the poster you were insulting might feel a bit of an idiot complaining to MN about being called a chubby chicken? Grin

Would scoring out the insult mean you've still attacked them do you think?

'Now you're just being a fuckwit silly billy ShittyPoster'.

Yeah, yeah, it's immature/not nice to be horrible to other posters, but needs must and all that.

I can't think how you twist 'parpity parp parp' round to mortally offend a poster ggirl.

Although I love the expression.

Perhaps you could put into context using an example for me?

How exactly would one "cock off", exactly? It sounds painful.

My choice would be: "Screamingly witty and undeniably apt message directed at (poster of choice) deleted by Mumsnet"

AtYourCervix · 12/03/2011 18:37

can some helpful person tell me what ladyintheradiator said please?

UnquietDad · 12/03/2011 18:42

I find this helps too.

And

this

HecateTheCrone · 12/03/2011 18:43

I think it's quite funny that you are looking for ways to insult people without getting deleted and when someone insults you, you report it Grin (what'd she say? [nosy] )

anyway. 'attack' the post, not the poster.

So if someone says something that annoys / offends / insults - say so. Talk about the post. That was... that is... I disagree because... that was uncalled for... etc, rather than making it about the person - you are a... etc

colditz · 12/03/2011 18:46

Do you have English as a second language? You seem to be having some difficulty with the points I'm making, perhaps I am being to colloquial for you. Sorry.

AgentZigzag · 12/03/2011 19:05

Sorry to deflate your outrage but I was just pulling LITR leg, she didn't write anything but 'Message deleted by Mumsnet' Grin

LITR would never stoop to telling someone to cock off Shock
