you spent how much???

I really can't believe anyone would spend so much money on a potty it is truly shocking.

I would love to know how many they sell a year?

For that much I'd want it to empty itself and clean up the mess when the trainees miss the target

mrsoliverramsay · 09/03/2011 13:41

I bought the Thomas the Tank engine one that I saw when I scrolled a bit further down. It was very good and my son potty trained very well using it. I don't think that's the one you mean though

faverolles · 09/03/2011 13:42

"It looks similar to a real toilet"
Um, no, it looks like a potty.

MrsH75 · 09/03/2011 13:43

Ooh, Peppa Pig potty chair though, tempting...

Well, if it was more comfortable and I was planning on having a couple of kids I wouldn't object to spending £35. I hate that potties are so uncomfortable for them and leave marks on their bums/legs. I'm more of a fan of 'straight on the toilet with a child seat' though with an emergency potty for the car, under the buggy.

However, I wouldn't buy that one, not even for £5 as the hole looks FAR too small.

and no, it doesn't look anything like a toilet, it looks like a potty!

BlueRuby · 09/03/2011 13:47

Wow, I got one from the £1 shop, it done two already and will be doing dc 3 soon.

IWantToBeAFairyWhenIGrowUp · 09/03/2011 13:48

I hate potties, but my dd had 2 and together they cost less than £5. Skipped to the toilet ASAP anyway. Shops think parents are an easy target though don't they?

diddl · 09/03/2011 13:53

Now that looks like a toilet.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 09/03/2011 13:54

I have just reviewed it but the reviews don't appear for 5-7 days.

Would you like me to C&P?

[wunk]

Psammead · 09/03/2011 13:57

It has deflector shields ?!?!?! Does it have a phaser bank too? Photon torpedos maybe?

If it did, I would buy it.

iliketea · 09/03/2011 13:58

I spent about £20 on my dd's potty. It sings when she sits on it and plays a fanfare if she does something in it, has stickers coming out the side and a little flusher that makes a flush noise. She seems to like sitting on it (not started properly potty training yet as she's a bit young), and I figure if it makes potty training more easier for her, it's worth the money.

And it does look like a little toilet.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 09/03/2011 14:03

I'll C&P anyway.

I wonder if they'll post it??

^My little precious first born adores his whole potty experience with this superb product.
Thanks to the microbacterial properties of the potty I can relax and know he's germ free and clean.
Just a quick query, I'd like to facility to personalise the potty - could you investigate, Jayden would love to see him name on it as he recognises most consonants now. :)^

cookielove · 09/03/2011 14:47

Sorry got distracted, Chaos that is soo funny, let us know if they reply.

iliketea - i wonder if you'll enjoy the noise as much when you hear them constantly??

OP posts:
mrsSOAK · 09/03/2011 14:54

iliketea - I want one of those! Details please!

iliketea · 11/03/2011 16:29

It was from toysrus here and if the noise means my dd is out of nappies quicker (I hate nappies) then I'll listen to it day in and day out!

Mumwithadragontattoo · 11/03/2011 16:35

Mine was 97p from Asda - not sure why you'd pay more given what is going to happen to it...

Quenelle · 11/03/2011 16:38

It looks rather over engineered to me. But I thought that about vibrating baby rockers and I can see the benefits of them now.

I bought a potty from a pound shop. Don't know if it will contribute to potty training success yet as DS is only 21 mo. At the moment he sits on the edge with his feet in it saying 'wee wee'.

As an aside wasn't it Mothercare who used to sell £30 MATERNITY SCARVES?

Is there an item of apparel less affected by the pregnant body's shape?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 11/03/2011 17:16

FARK ME.

They've posted the review!

There's either a MNer at Mothercare HQ or they're complete doilies and can't recognise a pistake when it [wunk]s at them.

If people want to pay it it's up to them. I bought a cushioned potty for about £20. It folded up into a step for the toilet/sink and you could take the top off and use it as a child toilet seat. I tried a cheap one first but dd said it hurt her legs and it really put her off going on the potty. It was worth the extra money to get her out of nappies imo and I'll be using it for ds when the time comes. No-one is asking you to buy it. YABU.

NoHunIntended · 11/03/2011 18:16

buttonmooncup, where did you get yours from? Link please!

buttonmooncup · 11/03/2011 18:31

www.teenytots.co.uk/safety-1st-comfy-cushy-3-in-1-potty.html

It's this one. I got mine from Tesco but they're out of stock at the mo. They do it in pink as well.

pigletmania · 11/03/2011 18:47

Ludricous I know, but when your child is refusing to sit on the potty you will try anything. My dd toilet trained on the later side, she hated the traditional £1 type potties and would not sit on them, but then I got her a Fisher Price Royal potty and she sat on it no problem. It was sturdier, and had more of a back on it to support them.
