to ask my ex to not let our four year old watch WWE wrestling?

my ex is a fan of WWE wrestling. to the extent he actually goes to watch shows. he has our four year old son every weekend and it has become apparent that he has been letting him watch it regularly Hmm

now i hate WWE anyway, i think its absolute shite and personally think that grown adults who watch this kind of rubbish need to grow up and get a life. (ex is a 31 year old man ffs)

i just don't like it because although i know that the violence in it it is staged, i don't want DS watching it as, at 4, he will think it is real. i also worry it might influence DS to try out the moves - as my dear mother said when i asked her about it "that rubbish will just encourage rambunctious behaviour!!" :o

sadly DS thinks the sun shines out of his dads stupid arse and that everything he does or says is really cool Hmm so if daddy thinks wrestling is cool then so will DS.

fatlazymummy · 07/03/2011 21:53

ithaka · 07/03/2011 21:53

When I was growing up, it was all the grannies that used to love the wrestling. My OH has fond memories of watching with his granny and then trying the holds on each other. Silly harmless fun - YABU.

BulletWithAName · 07/03/2011 21:54

BulletWithAName · 07/03/2011 21:58

None of them compare to Shawn Michaels in his heyday!

ddubsgirl · 07/03/2011 22:00

yes very true, will admit i shed a few tears when he left :( HHH was sooooo upset, worst one that got me was when eddie died and they were all stood around the ring and you saw mark henry crying.

BulletWithAName · 07/03/2011 22:02

Omg I cried like a baby over Eddie, I still get choked up when I see footage of him now. I love Vickie though she's fab!

I met Shawn Michaels...was crying the whole time, in the pic I have with him you can see all the tears! Blush.

ddubsgirl · 07/03/2011 22:04

awwwwww thats so sweet,i really want to take dp & kids to see it but tickets go so fast

BulletWithAName · 07/03/2011 22:07

I know, the tickets are like goldust (did you see what I did there Grin). I've sat front row twice and 2nd row once but only because my mum made friends with the head of WWE London.

ddubsgirl · 07/03/2011 22:09

lmao!very good lol!
ohhhh lucky mum!

fatlazymummy · 07/03/2011 22:11

My boys went to Raw a couple of years ago in London. The tickets were £90 [for 2] and they were 2 rows from the back. I have heard the house shows are better than the TV shows, I don't know if they are any cheaper.

BulletWithAName · 07/03/2011 22:14

The house shows are indeed far better than the TV tapings IMO, they do a lot more on the house shows as they are not confined to a filming schedule.

darling Eddie Guererro[sp], what happened to him, RL caught up with me i missed a lot, i know he died though and Chris Benoit killed self and family, what a tragedy.

Shawn i agree but he didn't do it for me, however i used to joke about Goldberg, that if whenever we had a fight, he would not hit me or be mad, as punishment he would just take and cuddle me like a baby and whisper in my ear,' baby, don't do it again, ok, it hurts me when you do that', because he is so strong and can break you in half, even DH looks like Goldberd minus the sixpack,DH has a beerpack but still.

BulletWithAName · 07/03/2011 22:21

He died of heart failure Sad

The Chris Benoit has to be the most shocking thing that's ever happened in wrestling ever. I couldn't believe it, when I met him he was so softly spoken and really nice...I know that probably doesn't mean a thing but I just couldn't believe it.

Goldberg had a fab physique- he was one of my faves in the WCW Nitro days!

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 07/03/2011 22:26

I dunno though Bullet , something in the Benoit situation just doesnt sit right with me, it doesnt seem to add up... :(

ddubsgirl · 07/03/2011 22:27

eddies heart gave out,his nephew found him in his hotel room :(

chris oh my,was awful, everyone said how nice he was but i guess after years of drug abuse and made his brain into swiss cheese,i dont are what others say and that drugs had nothing to do with it,of cousre they did,you cant pump your body full of that shit day in day out for years, even if he was clean when he died and it not have some lasting effect, same with eddie, altho sober and drug free it left a lasting effect on his heart but out of it all the drugs program they did found an underlying heart problem with 1 of the wrestlers,it saved his life.

BulletWithAName · 07/03/2011 22:30

It is very strange, I agree. The sort of verdict on it is that Benoit's brain was like that of an 80 year old dementia sufferer, due to the amounts of unprotected chair shots he took...

BlessedAssurance · 07/03/2011 22:33

very strange the Benoit story..

ddubsgirl · 07/03/2011 22:37

the texts he sent over that weekend were very strange, but then thats why they called the police in the end,to check on him.
