I bought from a very expensive kids shop some shoes for DD age 5. They have completey dropped apart and the shop will not give me a refund!! I am furious! Kids shoes should last until they grow out of them shouldn't they!

Basically it was heavily implying that we had mistreated the shoes and that I was quite wrong to expect a refund at all...and that her staff who refused me a refund were in the right and I was unreasonable to be 'irate' about the service I had recieved!

I run my own small business and I would NEVER EVER risk upsetting any customer these days. Every customer can access all their email contacts and facebook contacts and 'share' their bad experiences with everyone online instantly!!

Very short sighted to argue with your customers when you run a small company!

I took some start-rite school shoes back to our local 'One Small Step' shoe shop.

They were nearly 3 months old and had been worn every week day. The sole was gaping on both shoes and I told the manager that I wasn't expecting new shoes under the circumstances, but it was a bit crap when they cost £45.

They replaced them then and there.

Not helpful, but reference.

I had a problem with some Clarks adult shoes once - they replaced them instantly!
