NO refund when DD's shoes have dropped apart in 8 weeks?

candleshoe · 05/03/2011 16:27

I bought from a very expensive kids shop some shoes for DD age 5. They have completey dropped apart and the shop will not give me a refund!! I am furious! Kids shoes should last until they grow out of them shouldn't they!

That is because she is a bit bonkers. Well done, though!

candleshoe · 07/03/2011 17:25

I've just checked, and this MN thread comes on on page two of Google if you put in the shop's name now! Personally if 'Apples and Pairs in Sherston' was my business I wouldn't risk getting the bad publicity!

Bonkers in a nice way, obviously. She did deal with my complaint very efficiently. Blush

I know this shop and have only got praise for it - even the kids love going there. The staff are brilliant and the customer service is excellent. I suspect there is a bit more to this story.

candleshoe · 07/03/2011 18:34

No - just some shoes that dropped apart - nothing suspicious!!

I think perhaps they are struggling financially - I can think of no other sensible reason why you wouldn't refund a customer, who clearly had faulty goods, right away!

I too enjoyed shopping there - it made a very welcome change from the local shoe shop... and the clothes are lovely too!

KidExpress are a great brand - must have been one bad pair - as you get with every brand - I love the shoes and find them really hard wearing.

shoutalot · 07/03/2011 19:18

The owner of the shop is wonderful and also very reasonable so am sure it will all be sorted out.

MCos · 07/03/2011 19:22

I've bought clarks shoes for DDs 7 & 9 with past 3-4 years, and never had a problem other than scruffed toes. That includes the shoes with the dolls in the sole. Ok, I've not passed shoes from older one to younger one, but at least they have got full school year out of them.

shoutalot · 07/03/2011 19:26

I have just seen the other threads and am really shocked by this total witch hunt and assumptions you have made. Candleshoe admits that she has got her refund so where is the problem - knowing this shop as I do to call the Manager Bonkers is outrageous - shame on you all. To be happy that you can bad mouth a really good shop that I love going to and aparently find it funny is grossly unfair. Candleshoe needs to look at conduct for forums and understand that she or he is breaking the code of conduct for what they are about. I am disgusted and also loyal to the best shoe shop I have ever been to.

shrinkingnora · 07/03/2011 20:24

Re-read my posts. I was actually praising their customer service. I do think she is a bit bonkers though. I genuinely didn't mean to cause any offence. I really don't think 'a bit bonkers' is at all insulting, and I'm sorry I have upset you, shoutalot.

shoutalot · 07/03/2011 20:29

Candleshoe has recieved her refund as she has already said so to keep slagging off a really good shop - in my opinion - that offers unbelievable customer service and care of childrens's feet. In my opinion some customers are never happy and whatever you do will still slag off a good business. My son trashed school shoes every half term - until I got Start-Rite from the fab apples and Pairs - now they last at leaat a term. Some kids just trash shoes and parents do not polish them - what so you expect from shoes that kids wear 24/7

shoutalot · 07/03/2011 20:33

Sounds like Candleshoe has a lot of other names too as a lot of these comments seem to come from the same person???? Shrinkingnora for one - why would someone have more than one name on the forum?

shrinkingnora · 07/03/2011 20:35

I can assure you that I am not candleshoe. I think you may need to calm down a tad. I am also bloomingnora if you want to dig through my posting history. I changed it for a thread I am on.

MrsSchadenfreude · 07/03/2011 20:38

Are you "the bonker lady", Shoutalot? Grin

shrinkingnora · 07/03/2011 20:40

Thank you for that Mrs S Grin

shoutalot · 07/03/2011 20:50

No - I am a great customer of Apples and Pairs and I will shout a lot about how good they are and I hate it when people do not stick to guidelines.

Georgimama · 07/03/2011 20:58

Que? What guidelines are people not sticking to?

candleshoe · 07/03/2011 20:59

I have only used one name on this thread - you can keep your accusations to yourself.

I had lousy customer service - now rectified - problem solved - refund coughed up - thread finished!

Thanks to all for their advice and support.

Quite! I was suprised too - I was just asking MNers about it to see if it was normal to be cross about it! And whether others had managed to get refunds.

OP posts:
candleshoe · 10/03/2011 13:25

Finally I have rec'd my full refund (with a strange and slightly stroppy letter!)

HOORAY!

Thank you MNers for giving me the courage to pursue this matter to a satisfactory conclusion!
