To run to the post box while the baby was sleeping??

I live in a culdisac... The postbox is at the top of the culdisac plus about 4 houses (semi's, So 2 full size houses)

Today my baby (5 months) was fast asleep in her cot, and I had a pile of post (insurance, birth certificate for passport etc) that had to be sent off, so shut (bit didn't lock) the door and ran to the postbox and back. I was 2 minutes.

To wake her up and get to the box for last post would have been ridiculous??

DH went mad when I mentioned this when he got in... I reason that it's the same as having a huge garden and leaving your baby asleep while gardening.

He's very annoyed. Spare room annoyed.

AIBU? Or rather... WIBU to have done this???

I wouldn't do it personally. I don't think it's a great big fat hairy deal but I don't understand the need to do it either. Why couldn't you have gone before or after the baby's nap?

Also I think it's less of an issue with a small baby in a cot, but I wouldn't do it with a toddler or small child in a bed. If they woke they could get out of bed and panic if you weren't there and go looking for you. A baby in a cot isn't going to do any of that. At worst it will yell for a couple of minutes until you get back.

I just need ideas! I have a sick bug and a 6month old and feral 2 year old 😂 I don't want to ask for help cause of how contagious it is. My dad picked the 2 year old up from nursery and he went straight down for a nap! I just need ideas of how to entertain them both as feel guilty putting them in front of the tv. But I just need to get through the day spending most of the day hugging the toilet.

I admit I have no skin in the game as am childless but in the Nordics it's pretty common for people to leave their babies in buggies outside shops, or let them nap in their pram unattended outside the house or apartment.
