custardo - see youve just answered my question Grin

Drooling here stuck at work at the thought of a nice Iceland gateaux

inthesticks · 28/02/2011 15:49

As long as they get a cake each.

AboardtheAxiom · 28/02/2011 15:50

YANBU - I'm sure they'll be appreciative of cake and pub. Smile

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 28/02/2011 15:51

yes, yes. they are super large Blush

We got one at christmas, we usually stick to the small ones as I can't be trusted with them, I prove that each time Blush

They're bloody lovely tho, not to be sniffed at for that price, sadly any sniffing in my case results in swift hoovering up Blush

Phew. I am safe for another year as I Ticked All The Boxes Like A Proper Mummy for DDs first birthday bash. But only because I like baking, not through any cat's-bum-faced-inverted-cake-snobbery. However I did manage to give myself food poisoning on the sandwiches so I suppose that one can be chalked up as an Epic Fail.

Tortington · 28/02/2011 15:53

lol at hoovering up

yy one each!

PS custardo I can't see what's wrong with Iceland cakes. I loved that sort of thing when I was that age- still do!

Have you hand-stitched some bunting? If not then Iceland gateaux absolutely not allowed. Why don't you make them 18 red velvet cupcakes each? You are failing as a mother is you don't...

I have never made a birthday cake for either of my daughters- I do bake occasionally but get a bit fazed by big cakes which often sink in the middle or generally taste ok but look crap. In fact for my youngest daughter's first birthday party I bought her a cake and totally forgot to bring it out or anything. We had another little party for her at granny's and did the 'blowing out the candle' thing then :)

Bumperlicious · 28/02/2011 16:11

Traditionally from my mum we get an m&s caterpillar cake!

LargeGlassofRedPlease · 28/02/2011 16:14

costco - seriously, if you have one near? HUGE delicious choc cakes that you see all of the cafes selling. Only about 8pound. I always get them and decorate accordingly.

Tortington · 28/02/2011 16:16
