Is it worse to be long term unemployed or a smoker ?

I do mean at a personal level, not an economic one.

eg. You are to spend 3-4 hours in the company of an unknown person of the same age and gender as yourself.
There is a choice of:

A) Unemployed for >1 year, non-smoker.
B) Employed for >1 year, smoker.

Do you choose A, B or no preference ?

Er, I work in environments where a high percentage of people I encounter are unemployed smokers. I don't think about it. To me they are people.

I can't stand stale fag stink, so would probably go for the unemployed person. However, if they'd both just had a shower and were lovely and fresh, I would have no preference. Unless one of them was an annoying nob of course, then all bets are off.

I smoke and currently not working because I am sick.

To be honest I find your thread offensive towards the unemployed and smokers.

We do not compartmentalise our friends because of what they do and if they smoke.
