They keep "estimating" my bills to the extent where the manager of customer services rang me and said, cancel your direct debit as we're clearly a bunch of monkeys. I did. That was in Aug 2010, I received a bill in January for £450 I paid that, then received a bill for £100 in Feb (the first week) I rang to query it and the guy asked me for my meter readings (AGAIN) I gave them and he said "Oh it's wrong, you only owe £20". So I paid that. I got a bill today for £70 so I rang up to query it. THere has never been an agent knock on my door to retrieve the meter readings, I just give them over the phone. THis stupid woman today said;

"Well someone came in August, twice in fact and gave us the readings"

Me: "Sorry they couldn't have I have been in".

Her: "Perhaps you've forgotten, August was such a long time ago".

Me: "No, no I'm 24 I can remember 7 months ago perfectly well and no one came, least of all twice in the space of a week".

Her: "are you calling me a liar?"

Me: "yes".

Her: "Well you're wrong, our system is never wrong".

Me: "Your system was wrong 2 weeks ago when I tried to pay more than was owed, can I speak to your supervisor?"

Her: "Whatever..." BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.

Mad is not the word.

You should tell them to E-off.

When my husband and I moved into our current address in 03/12 we were on e.on. We contacted e.on customer services. We asked for the cheapest tariff. E.on lied to us - they deliberately misled us, telling us that one of the most expensive tariffs was the cheapest!
As a result of this witting deception by e.on, our last 2 quarterly bills - for 6 months - were equivalent to one year's worth of bills.
We showed our wills to a friend who is a qualified engineer with a utility co, and he was flabbergasted. He informed us that e.on had deceived us for the purpose of commission, which we were told is what they commonly do.
We have complained many times to the e.on ceo, Dr Tony Cocker. All we get is letters justifying their deception from the director's office.
We switched to a rival co. We have now learnt by their own admission, that as a malicious act, e.on have, out of spite, contacted our new provider with false estimates in order to try and increase our bill. We have a baby. Having deliberately misled us over the tariff, and having grossly overcharged us, these yank bastards had the audacity to send us a letter threatening debt collectors and reporting to credit reference agencies as we challenged their bent billing.
E.on are a bunch of crooks. I would advise everyone out there to avoid e.on like the plague. They are liars, cheats, swindlers, thieves, fraudsters and crooks to put it mildly.
I would seriously urge anyone else ripped off and defrauded by e.on to report them to the Ombudsman Services: Energy, and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). These thieves and fraudsters must be stopped. The more customer complaints the OFT receive the more empowered they are to act against e.on.
E.on should come with a public health and safety warning - e.on: there to lie to you, deceive you, and rip you off.
E.on - you are a bunch of yank rip off merchants, you bent bastards!
