to mourn the loss of my black leggings?

Sad

i was getting away with the whole in the calf by wearing black tights underneath, but today, i finally sealed their fate. i spilled bleach on them. would it be really cheap to colour it in with a permanent black marker? Grin

Are they irreplaceable then?

BooyFuckingHoo · 21/02/2011 22:52

probably not, they were cheapos from george, but money is V tight at the minute. none spare for extras. black tights will suffice!

MrsRhettButler · 21/02/2011 22:53

yes, why are they so special? do you live somewhere that has NO MORE black leggings?

sorry for taking the piss, i do know what its like to have a brilliant pair, mine were from river island and went through the same as you (minus the bleach) mine just literally fell apart at the seams and black tights no longer worked :(

MrsRhettButler · 21/02/2011 22:54

ahhh i see yes i sympathise i splashed out for my river island ones and was very angry when they didnt last for ever long

it's OK. this is lighthearted mourning, take the piss all you want, i expected it!

it is just the end of a great relationship. we had been through a lot together!

how big is the bleach stain? fwiw if that happened to my george ones i would totally colour in with a black marker Blush

BooyFuckingHoo · 21/02/2011 22:58

two dashes about a cm long each. so should i just colour them then?

I'm very fortunate to live near a market. They sell nice leggings for £2.99 so I tend to wear them and replace them after a few washes. I kind of treat them like tights really. I don't throw them out though, I wear them under jeans/trousers when it's really cold outside.

Onetoomanycornettos · 21/02/2011 22:59

I had a pair of trousers for years that I had to colour in every time I washed them. If you love them, colour them!

CointreauVersial · 21/02/2011 23:01

I had a bleach mark on a black jumper once, and coloured it in very successfully with permanent marker. I wore it for years after that, just had to touch it up every few washes....

MrsRhettButler · 21/02/2011 23:01

i would! i had a t shirt once that had white sleeves but black torso and my mum very helpfully tried to bleach the sleeve and it leaked onto the black bit so she coloured it in with marker Grin you have to redo it every few washes though!

seriously, if you cant get any more right now i wouldn't hesitate

BooyFuckingHoo · 21/02/2011 23:01

getting busy with teh felt tips tehn cos i really dont want to give them up.

worraliberty · 21/02/2011 23:02

I have a black jumper that I splashed bleach on, that gets coloured every time I wear it. The kids hand me their felt marker whenever they see me put it on Blush

Clunge · 21/02/2011 23:03

Colour it in!

I got the most amazing leggings from Next for £14. Control leggings that are more like thick tights. I would cry if anything happened to those!

Amieesmum · 21/02/2011 23:04

YANBU - Similar happened with my only black pair too. They were George ones, got them for a quid in the sales. Had a small hole in the calf. Left a load of darks by the washing machine waiting for the first load to finish, came back 5 minutes later & the dog was chewing them Angry Grrr!! I loved those leggings!

TheSleepFairy · 21/02/2011 23:05

Colouring in is a good idea. also get yourself a new pair of leggings penny jar & pop the odd 20p, 50p & £1 in.

You will have enough for a new marker pen pair of leggings very soon.

I also wear old leggings under jeans in very cold weather as we walk every where, my best buy was a leotard to wear under my t-shirt to stop the wind catching my muffin top when strapping babies into the buggy.

BooyFuckingHoo · 21/02/2011 23:05

Amies that's what happened mine!! bloody dogs!! Grin
