a friend of mine wants to take one of my children to the cinema tomorrow, then out for food and shopping, all arranged.she will have said child from 10 till about 4 or 5 possibly. she calls me this morning to say her new boyfriend is going with her.
she only 'met' this guy on 1st jan, has been on 6 dates with him, so in my mind, barely knows him.
i dont really want some guy i dont know spending a whole day with my dd, i have never net him, she barely knows him, i know dd wont be comfy with it.
am i being a bit weird to tell her im not happy with it?

Why are you so aggressive Chipping? First you imply I'm mad (I think saying someone's way of thinking is mad is fairly close, let's not split hairs here) then you insult my intellect. Perhaps I am struggling with the english language, must be my MA dragging me down again Hmm

Yep - and only in this country.

Pretty much a waste of time and resources - not to mention a false sense of security.

SGB - exactly.

I have no issue with my children being with adults unknown to me personally. BUT. I wouldn want to be a third wheel in a new relationship, it would be uncomfy. So my dd may feel the same. And i dont want her to feel out of place. And my friend falls in and out of love all the time, she meets guys off the net, like this man, and goes mad for them.

If u don't feel comfortable don't ddo it - I wouldn't! Is doesn't matter if you slightly offend your friend - if you let her go you will spend the whole day worrying! Your a mum - trust your instincts!
