Blah blah blah human rights. Surely they gave up their human rights when they committed anti-civilised/social crimes?

The EU courts are putting pressure on...I think it's ridiculous. They shouldn't have a say of how society is treated when they have been purposefully removed from it.

I say we make voting "legal" for them. But deny them the right to leave the prison in order to do it. Surely that would work?

Aitch - that'd be a pretty daft strategy, though, as ultimately the government can't do anything about it. They would look very stupid if they failed to comply and ended up paying out thousands or millions of pounds in compensation.

Of courserisoners should have the right to vote, what if some loony government puts loads of people in jail, say for something like speaking against them, or being the wrong religion etc, if those prisoners had no right to vote who would vote out the loony government

oh yes, this is all just posturing, they will give in in the end on the grounds that (yet again) labour fucked the economy and it's imprudent to waste the money. tough choices, etc.
