To want DH to not look like a bin man just because he is ill?

DH is in day 4 of man flu a bug. He's ill, I don't doubt it. He's achey and sneezy and was being sick on sunday so definitely under the weather.

However, when I am sick, I at least manage to drag a comb through my hair, pull on a clean jumper/jeans and look like I live in a house as opposed to a skip. DH has been wandering around in the following fashions;

Monday - bermuda shorts, red v-neck sweather, slippers

Tuesday - linen trousers that are all threadbare on the bum/knees, wifebeater vest, odd socks.

Today - bin man hat, tracksuit top/jeans he gardens in.

I'm not suggesting he wears a dinner suit to be ill around the house in, but he looks like he's been working on the bin truck. I feel a bit better for just cleaning myself up a bit when sick. He is making me feel a bit scuzzy with his hobo fashion show Grin

Are you banning me from your thread as well as calling me a dufus?

ShirleyKnot · 09/02/2011 20:06

aw look!

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:07

Nah not banning you from the thread just banning myself from responding to you.

SHIT

Oh dear. I doubt I'd be allowed in your house. I try to leave the house looking respectable and drag a comb through my hair most mornings, however, I'm generally back in my PJs or trackie bottoms within about three seconds of getting home from work each evening. If I'm ill, I can't guarantee my PJs will even match.

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:09

Don't mind PJs, actually. Even not matching.

Ignore me. I shouldn't have posted when in a funk. Having possibly the worst day ever.

ShirleyKnot · 09/02/2011 20:10
WincyEtNightie · 09/02/2011 20:10

Ahem: What's a fecking bin man hat please?????

GORGEOUSX · 09/02/2011 20:11

I thnk YABU - he is ill after all. My DH looks like that quite often.....

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:13

Binman hat - a hat covered in paint, holes and smells like, well, a bin truck. DH's makes my bonce itch just looking at it...

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:14

Well sorry that you're having a bad day.

Just hope that you're doing it NOT dressed like a homeless.

OP posts:
WincyEtNightie · 09/02/2011 20:14

Thanks bupcakes.

Sounds, erm, lovely Grin Does he think it has magical healing powers or is he just wearing it for added "look at me I'm ill" appeal?

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:18

I have no idea, Wincy. I think he relishes in looking appalling when under the weather, bless him.

Just noticed that his hair has sixty different parting too. WTF?!

OP posts:
CilantroLarry · 09/02/2011 20:23

Oh I'm quite positive you'd despise me. Not only am I dressed like a homeless person but one who has vomited over herself several times.

I've got severe morning sickness and anything I manage to drag onto my vomiting person generally ends up fairly fetid by noon.

I'm wearing a hat too. It's got a flower on it. Binmen don't tend to wear flowers do they?

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:27

Depise?

Hang on, I know I'm supposed to be ignoring you but that's a bit strong innit? I'm only suggesting that might DH get himself into some nice, fresh clothes, he might feel a bit perkier... not that he needs sending to the gas chamber.

There's a LOT of rattling going on on MN at the minute. It's like sitting in a box of Maltesers on a dashboard of a F1 car.

OP posts:
bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:33

IT IS EXCTLY LIKE THAT!

OP posts:
CilantroLarry · 09/02/2011 20:42

I was joking. Grin

Not about the flowery hat and vomiting mind.

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 20:49

Nowt wrong with hats. I am partial to a hat myself, as it goes. DH says I look like Frank Spencer in my Primarni beret, the fucking NOBBER.

pointythings · 09/02/2011 21:56

When I'm ill, I'll be in bed. Wearing absolutely nothing.

When I get out of bed, I will fling on whatever covers the essentials (essentials defined by ambient temperature) and comes readily to hand.

Stop nagging ill people for having no dress sense.

TheFallenMadonna · 09/02/2011 21:59

DH doesn't shave when he's ill. He grows a poorly beard. He had flu a while back and after a week it was almost bushy Hmm.

figcake · 09/02/2011 22:09

Our bin men are young and gorgeous and Eastern European - so not much hope really

bupcakesandcunting · 09/02/2011 23:51

Lucky cow, figcake. Grin

BuzzLiteBeer · 09/02/2011 23:58

Mumcentreplus · 10/02/2011 00:01
