Hi i have until tomorrow to get some replies so here goes.
DD is 9 days and has a cleft palate, she was only home 2 days when she was re admitted with aspiration pneumonia. She is on iv antibiotics and being tube fed and is being treated for reflux too.She is very sleepy and started to cough up lots of flem today.
I have cried so much i just cant stop,dh is devastated it is our first baby together, and ddi aged 8 is so upset she wont even visit her.Have been at hospital every minute she has been in and dh is staying tonight as i am becoming ill with it all and bleeding is heavy and im not eating or sleeping.
I have had a quick look and many of you have experienced this,i just need a bit of advice and some mn reassurance. Will she be ok?
Please help.

Once, foods just an annoying add on tbh but we don't live nr hospital so visitors do bring food but with no fridge or microwave its hard, I'm not starving tho.will def try and fund raise to get stuff tho.
Thanks Mrs k on the mend now hopefully, puts the pIl situation into perspective I suppose.

So pleased for you and hope all goes well in the next few months. I know we shouldn't generalise but I have known three people who have had cleft palates in the last thirty years and each one has been an example of the nicest, kindest, most decent, honest human being one could ever hope to meet. Sure your LO will be the same too.

What a beautiful name! Enjoy having her home x

Oh ledkr - so sorry to hear of your trauma with this! Very glad she is improving and coming home (and I hope your ILs stay well clear! - I haven't mixed you up with anyone, have I? aren't they rather keen to use you as a hotel? Or was that just Christmas?)

You poor love - new babies are fear-inducing enough when there isn't anything apparently wrong - so much harder when there is. Hope it's all dealt with as soon as practicable and that she stays well now. Lovely name, btw! :)
