Or at least, in Mumsnet World there are. Is it just me, or is this expression becoming a teeny bit overused?

And get the kids' tea on.

Truckulente · 04/02/2011 16:31

Don't worry I'm off out soon to football and then to drink copious amounts of beer watching the rugby.

They'll be aggression and hopefully no one will be passive.

swanandduck · 04/02/2011 16:32

Really meantosay. You eat your evening meal at 5.00 and call it tea? I think that's lovely and down to earth.

LadyOfTheManor · 04/02/2011 17:40

Gram? Graham? Is this you? Has my prophecy come true?

For the record, us Mn's are not passive about anything. We don't do halves.

UnquietDad · 04/02/2011 17:43

Well, that was said to me.
It was not taken very happily by me.

(I am trying being passive passive.)

Dylthan · 04/02/2011 17:51

LadyOfTheManor · 04/02/2011 17:54

Ha, probably. Probably his wife being played like a puppet. Poor ol' Graham.

Oh I know, but I thought I'd have a bit of fun with the passive "mood".

FellatioNelson · 04/02/2011 20:52

I was barely aware of the term until I came on MN, and I have realised I do a nice line in PA myself at times!

I would darling, but I don't like to over-shadow you in your valiant efforts. Grin

prettymuchapixiegirl · 05/02/2011 20:20

I used to be very passive aggressive. I didn't really realise it until I started having counselling, and over the past few months I've learnt lots of techniques to be neither aggressive or passive aggressive, but instead assertive.

People that aren't assertive are often passive aggressive because they lack confidence to say what they want, feel unable to say no to people and feel that they cannot speak their mind.

And yes, OP I totally agree there are lots of passive aggressive people around, in real life and online. DD2's best friend's mum springs to mind "Oh your hair looks nice now Pixiegirl, it's good to see you with a decent haircut" etc etc.
