And said "Are you ok?" It could have been a heartstopping moment but it was comfortable

No handcuffs were produced; no warrant.

I write about the police under my own name; so it seems reasonable to on nodding terms with them.

I have talked to people who think that is unreasonable. (and maybe a bit dangerous)

But I take the view that the ordinary officer has no real say in the big decisions. so, what the hell

It obviously was cos s/he hasn't been back.

You came across much better on the radio Gabby, should do a bit more of that!

friedtoacrisp · 04/02/2011 17:32

Would someone kindly notify us when the OP actually locates and boards the Mothership. Thank you.

QuickLookBusy · 04/02/2011 17:33

Lady, they were saying that Mumsnet has no "power" unless they all agree and get behind one political party!!Grin And I see a pig flying across my kitchen.

Thingumy · 04/02/2011 17:33

How dare you chil-show your face immediately !

LadyOfTheManor · 04/02/2011 17:33

Ha! How rude. I feel an email coming on.

Chil1234 · 04/02/2011 17:34

My real identity is...... ....... Janet Street-Porter!

Chil1234 · 04/02/2011 17:34

Grin and this is my face!

MissyMorrison87 · 04/02/2011 17:34

Hmm...

LadyOfTheManor · 04/02/2011 17:37

Chil-her teeth aren't quite that straight.

Just saying.

JamieLeeCurtis · 04/02/2011 17:41

Gabby - read back and you'll realise you forgot to put the part about you writing books that are critical of the police, right back at the beginning. That's why some posters were confused (and taking the piss). We didn't understand what you were going on about.

JamieLeeCurtis · 04/02/2011 17:42

Please stop being rude to Gabby.

LadyOfTheManor · 04/02/2011 17:43
Hmm
Hassled · 04/02/2011 17:44

Yes, no Gabby bashing. Gabby is sweet and gentle and eccentric. All admirable qualities.

JamieLeeCurtis · 04/02/2011 17:47

Gabby is not malicious

Thingumy · 04/02/2011 17:49

Sweet?

Read his post in response to lisa's 'what are you on about'

He's a fucking loon.

LadyOfTheManor · 04/02/2011 17:49

ha ha. I love the word loon. Makes me smile.

BLOO3Z · 04/02/2011 17:51

where you standing on a ledge - very funny just fell off chair laughing.
Think this is a case of read before you click.

as this thread makes no sense to anyone but the poster.

Chil1234 · 04/02/2011 17:53

"Gabby is not malicious"

Demanding my name, address and accusing me of slander?... I call that pretty nasty actually. If he can't take it, he shouldn't dish it out.

Hassled · 04/02/2011 17:53

Ok, that wasn't so sweet. But elsewhere I've always found him to be bizarre, but never malicious.

Hassled · 04/02/2011 17:54

I'll get my coat.

But chil - I didn't read that as malice, or even as serious. Just a typically bizarre response.

guyane · 04/02/2011 17:58

Just the ticket for an end of week LOL....

KurriKurri · 04/02/2011 18:01

The name and address bit was quite out of character - I've never known him to be malicious either.

I like him - it would be dull if we were all the same Smile

Besom · 04/02/2011 18:03

If we can't tolerate a bit of oddness, I don't want to be on MN anymore.

AlabasterQueen · 04/02/2011 18:25

I didn't mean anything by my question Gabby. I genuinely wondered whether English was your first language. I didn't mean it to sound odd. Your posts really confuse me, I assumed this was due to a language barrier. Sorry if I offended you.

OhForBoonessSake · 04/02/2011 18:25

i agree besom.
