This is sick and brings more shame on the Canadian nation.

Why does it bring shame on Canada?

Goodynuff · 03/02/2011 20:01

still waiting to hear how 30 million of us are at fault?

staffylover · 03/02/2011 20:01

goodynuff your point?

OP posts:
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/02/2011 20:02

I'm not sure how it brings shame on Canada any more than many of the dreadful, dreadful animal abuse stories we hear about in the UK brings shame to the UK???

FanellaFudge · 03/02/2011 20:03

Perhaps Obama will release a statement soon...

staffylover · 03/02/2011 20:03

it brings shame on the canadian nation because it is not an isolated incident as i have already pointed out

OP posts:
HingCogNeeto · 03/02/2011 20:03

you know, NO ONE is going to say this is acceptable

It is a disgusting way to treat animals

BUT

why inflate it to a CANADA'S SHAME DM-type headline, the facts speak for themselves, no?

Mists · 03/02/2011 20:04

I am a crackpot English person who fully supports the aerial hunting of people like Sarah Palin by the way Wink

Mists · 03/02/2011 20:05

If we got President Obama on here for a webchat the entire internet would explode with lust

Vallhala · 03/02/2011 20:06

It's Canadian health and safety legislation which allowed the individual who murdered these dogs to be paid compensation for PTSS.

That's pretty bloody shameful of a nation which in many other respects I find beautiful and remarkable for better reasons.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/02/2011 20:06

but animal cruelty on a shocking scale happens in invidiuals cases all over the UK

Are the Candadians (or any other nation for that matter) telling us that it brings shame on us????

staffylover · 03/02/2011 20:06

baroquearoundtheclock very true many horrible things are perpetrated on animals by humans in this country but i dont think wholesale slaughter has been practised over here!

Goodynuff · 03/02/2011 20:06

My point, is that your post is labled "to think this brings shame on Canada", and your opening comment is "This is sick and brings more shame on the Canadian nation"
you are blaming an entire country, rather than the people responsable for a horrific act, and I think that you are being inflamatory and rude....and not explaining how the whole country is at fault. You said it.

FanellaFudge · 03/02/2011 20:07

Thank you for explaining Vallhala. So they won't be prosecuting then?

gordyslovesheep · 03/02/2011 20:08

no - we wait for cows and pigs and stuff to like die of old age - we don;t slaughter then no sir not us

LDNmummy · 03/02/2011 20:09

Then every ntion on earth is equally as shameful. It is herrendous and I hope the criminals involved get whats coming to them. But you should be shamed of yourself too as you are part of one nation or another and that nation is no less guilty.

staffylover · 03/02/2011 20:09

inflammatory and rude? just saying what i feel.

OP posts:
Ryoko · 03/02/2011 20:10

That guy/family? (can't remember) killed loads of horses and had starving horses, he/they are representative of every single person in Britain.

We are all horse murdering scum. I hope you are happy, how can you live with yourself after what you did to all those equines? you bastard.

pagwatch · 03/02/2011 20:12

We bombed the fuck out of Iraq. Inprobably ought to just shoot myself.

Hang on. I am pretty sure I protested against that Confused

I am happy for Sarah plain to be randomly blamed for a lot of stuff though.
Hths

staffylover · 03/02/2011 20:12

gordylovessheep you know thats a totally different subject. these animals were slaughtered for no reason than they were surplus to requirements

OP posts:
BaroqueAroundTheClock · 03/02/2011 20:13

well..........I could start a whole debate about battery farms - which is hardly a cruetly free, or humane way of doing thing.......or mention other dispisacable practices going on in the UK with regards to animal treatment and killing.....or perhaps the 10 dogs that were PTS with a captive bolt gun......by the RSPCA

(but I shan't Wink)

gordyslovesheep · 03/02/2011 20:14

oh right - well then that's awful and all Canadians are evil dog killers - unlike us cow loving Brits (goes back to polishing her special gun)

Vallhala · 03/02/2011 20:14

Ryoko, the bastards at Spindles Farm, which is what you are referring to, were successfully prosecuted, not paid compensation for the sight of the horrors they caused. Big difference AFAIAC.

Ormirian · 03/02/2011 20:15

Oh how horrible Sad Such beautiful animals.

However I am not sure Canadians as a nation should be feeling guilty Hmm

staffylover · 03/02/2011 20:15

as i have said cruelty happens in this country as well but this was cruel despicable slaughter
