Fabby

I think that's very public-spirited of you. All this double-knickeredness around, and there you are wearing none at all, thus helping to keep the average number of pairs per bottom at about 1.

I have done it. At a drama exam at school, I nipped to the loo, came back with my skirt tucked into my knickers at the back and my very colourful pair of pink 'piggy' design comedy knickers, worn over my tights, clearly on show.

nemofish · 31/01/2011 16:29

Gave the examiners a giggle though, unfortunately the girl at school with the BIIGEST mouth was also there. And yes, this was a girl who spent her whole life speaking in fecking capitals.

'OOH LOOK YOU CAN SEE HER KNICKERS WITH PIGS ON!!! LOOOOK!'

hallamoo · 31/01/2011 16:31

I'm wearing another pair of knickers over my tights at the moment. At 32 weeks pregnant, it's the only way I can get them to stay up.

I've tried everything; maternity tights, normal tights in a bigger size, it's cos my tummy is bigger than my hips at the moment, so they won't stay up for love nor money without the extra knickers.

It's very liberating, not having to worry about having your gusset around your knees!!!

OTheHugeManatee · 31/01/2011 16:33

I suppose the falling-down-tights people could always wear men's braces with their tights?

Whaaaaaat? Don't the knickers end up walking down your legs?

Doesn't it just double washing load? Or do you wear the outer pair as the inner pair the next day?

begonyabampot · 31/01/2011 17:13

more like to wear no knickers with tights or you end up with too many 'lines' and bumps showing.

PlasticLentilWeaver · 31/01/2011 17:16

Blush another one for no pickers with tights. I do wear them under jeans though.

PlasticLentilWeaver · 31/01/2011 17:17

Knickers.
Damn phone!

HecateQueenOfWitches · 31/01/2011 17:19

I never wear tights. Horrible things.

Chatelaine · 31/01/2011 17:20

Not quite as bad as wearing a bra over a vest...

OTheHugeManatee · 31/01/2011 17:21

Chatelaine Why on earth would anyone do that? Confused

EdwardorEricCantdecide · 31/01/2011 17:22

i wear knickers 2 pairs of tights and another pair of knickers. keeps them from falling down. Grin

ps i have always done this

Grin
DuplicitousBitch · 31/01/2011 17:26

i did this at school when i had neither an arse or waist to attach anything to

RedHeels · 31/01/2011 17:30

I do it. But only in the winter. It has a double advantage of keeping the tights in place and your bits warm.

Otherwise, I wear stockings (hold ups). They add an extra bounce to my step as they make me feel more free and all that Grin.

Hate tights really.

BusyMissIzzy · 31/01/2011 17:36

Ooh, does it keep your tights up then? Interesting. Not that I wear tights regularly.

Pixieonthemoor · 31/01/2011 17:39

I know!! Isnt it weird!! I have never in my life had a problem with tights falling down as described but then, I do have thunder thighs to keep them in place!! Wink

Chatelaine · 31/01/2011 17:43

OTheHugeManatee - It's nearly died out thank goodness! Ask around your older aquaintances, relatives it was common way back when. Never done it myself you understand! I have a sneaking suspicion it's connected to the time before central heating. One kept the vest on, nightie on top. In the freezing cold morning no need to fully undress. Old fashioned corsets used to be worn over a chemise, think pride & predudice Grin

LaWeaselMys · 31/01/2011 17:44

I've never had tights fall down either!

To add to the list of sins though, I wear tights long legging and socks if I have to go out and be smart when it's cold.

readywithwellies · 31/01/2011 18:05

I do, c-section scar cannot tolerate tights that roll down. Second pair of knickers stops it.

ModreB · 31/01/2011 18:11

I do all the time. Keeps me warm when I am watching the DS's play rugby in the middle of a field in the rain and blowing a gale.

sazzlesb · 31/01/2011 18:39

I confess I used to do this when younger and it was not one for a night on the pull. I'm tall so they used to roll down otherwise. Now I just buy a bigger size so they don't - doh!

Mirage · 31/01/2011 18:44

FabbyChic's post explains why I always wash new clothing before wearing it.Grin

bettybosseye · 31/01/2011 18:45

knickers over your tights is all a bit wonder woman with thrush for my liking. Utter madness!
I hate tights though, the work of the devil.
