TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 29/01/2011 18:50

AintMissBeehiving · 29/01/2011 18:50

DooinMeCleanin · 29/01/2011 18:53

He is a very cute wee thing isn't he?

I hope you are all very happy together.

diddl · 29/01/2011 18:54

"Did you have to have a home visit?"

Well, when my husband phoned yesterday they said that they like to check out where you live.

Although when we gave our address today they know where it is-in terms of house & garden size, so they seem to be willing to let us have him first.

hes like a little seal!

Emir is a fabulous name, it means 'prince' i think.

happy trails!

diddl · 29/01/2011 19:08

Ah, so now that daughter knows the meaning of the name she wants to keep it!

lovely girl!

lovely dog!

lovely story!

lifeinlimbo · 29/01/2011 19:23

He looks like a good doggy :)

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 29/01/2011 19:28

Diddle - I bet they said he was 'unremarkable' so that somemugone like you would take him Grin

He's lovely. I'm sure those sad eyes will change pretty soon. I wish I could be there tomorrow when you pick him up!!

I'm glad you aren't changing his name.

As it was DH who rang them yesterday he seems to have 'come around' quite nicely!

ChaoticAngelofAnarchy · 29/01/2011 19:42

He's not unremarkable, he's gorgeous :)

Lucyintheskywithdiazepam · 29/01/2011 19:51

Aaaah...he's gorgeous! And not unremarkable at all. I think he looks very distinguished.

Don't worry about changing his name. Dogs adapt quickly to a new name. One of my dogs responds to his actual name (which is different to the name he had in his last home) plus 3 or 4 nicknames.

Lucyintheskywithdiazepam · 29/01/2011 19:54

Ignore me....I see you're keeping his original name.

NeedsAGoodSeeingTo · 29/01/2011 19:59

He's beautiful! How could he be called unremarkable!? Those eyes!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 29/01/2011 19:59

Aww makes me sad that this poor doggy was abandoned.
But yey for his new home!! I hope you have many, manny happy years with him :)

Abr1de · 29/01/2011 20:05

He looks really sweet.

diddl · 29/01/2011 20:16

"I bet they said he was 'unremarkable' so that somemugone like you would take him"

ProbablyGrin

Compared to the others he was very quiet which tbh is what we want.

He´s still young enough to need lots of exercise, but hopefully not leaping at everyone & jumping into laps as soon as you sit down.

taintedpaint · 29/01/2011 20:19

Oh he's so gorgeous! Congratulations on finding him (and him finding you!)!

I'm a sucker for stories like this!

IlsaLund · 30/01/2011 15:29

Have you got him yet?

Hope it is all going well

kittybuttoon · 30/01/2011 15:38

He is lovely - hope he is settling in.

My DH was dead set against getting our dog (also rescue) but he has eyes like your one, and they fell in love INSTANTLY. Now the dog is 'his' dog, not mine!

Numberfour · 30/01/2011 15:40

He is one very lucky mutt to be getting you and yours for his new family!!! He is Beautiful and most certainly NOT unremarkable!

diddl · 30/01/2011 16:35

Well he´s home, fed & watered & walked.

Laying in his basket-spotted the cat & didn´t look interested.

Cat spotted him-"puffed up" & went upstairs in disgust.
