To Think that Katie Hopkins should not be on Question Time.

For the simple reason that I can't stand her?

Admittedly I was only half watching QT (while Mumsnetting) so I didn't hear everything she said. But I can't be the only woman here who wants to succeed on merit, not because I'm a woman and they're scared of me suing them, can I? Wasn't that what she was saying? That women need to embrace proper equality by being willing to compete with men on an equal footing?

But how is that relevant to the assistant referee case, gaelic? That woman has succeeded on her own merits, if anything her being a woman has held her back in a male dominated career, she hasn't sued anyone - she has embraced "proper equality" by anyone's definition. But somehow some tossers think her ability and professionalism is in question purely because of her knicker content.

By saying these things WRT the assistant ref case, KH is trying to imply that sexism is something that she deserved and should just get over. Which is a) really rude and untrue and b) all very well but if you can't "get over" the sexism of e.g. potential employers then you will be on the dole no matter how plucky you are.

I have no idea Elephants. QT was the first I'd heard of that. I was possibly only one quarter listening...

So, Gaelic, do you think that that female lineswoman was there just because she was a woman? Apparently, she made some very good decisions in that game. Someone who has done that in such a chauvanistic and male dominated world does not need some moron putting her down when she was doing her job.

And actually, as someone else said, Katie Hopkins hasn't really succeeded in anything. She's just a rent a gob, any business success she did achieve was as a result of sleeping with her boss. Yes, thats REAL equality!

She has been to my house with her dds for my dds birthday and she spent the whole time sat on the floor openly groping and snogging her boyfriend. I was embarrassed for her. As far as I and everyone else who met her and her family were concerned the nanny has brought up all her children with little input from horse face herself

Every time i hear Katie Hopkins speak, my blood boils. She seems such a misogynistic woman - I wonder what happened to her in childhood to make her hate the "sisterhood" so much. Her latest attack is on women's rights to maternity leave; previously she had a beef with the strive to be treated equally. From her appearances on The Apprentice, she seems very threatened by the presence of other women and her only approach to that threat is to be adversarial. I think the world would be a better place if she didn't her views publicly again.

I think she is often wheeled out as the unacceptable voice of conservatism these days, yes you are right she is an arse!

You see, I think Maggie Thatcher would have loved Mumsnet.
