To think that Glee is a pile of shite?

I've just had to endure watch this for the first time. What a load of utterly hideous American moralising crap. And ruining a load of good songs to boot. Terrible, terrible television.

maighdlin , god that xmas episode is fab!! I cried!

YABU, Glee is the perfect load of telly crap that is so crap its ACE

I think this the thing - I'm not expecting The West Wing (my favourite show ever) - only Glee for Glee's sake. But I don't really recognise what this is, there's virtually no characterisation. So far it really does seem like an extended video to flog music downloads.

Sue Sylvester

YABU Take it with humungous pinch of salt, it is pure escapism, like any musical!

mumeeee · 08/02/2011 22:52

I don't watch it but my 19 year old DD loves it, I think it's mostly aimed at teens.

kaid100 · 09/02/2011 01:03

I've not seen much of it, but there was a very good cover of I Wanna Hold Your Hand that impressed me.

YANBU

It's vile and patronising and offensive to all kinds of minority groups, and ruins some decent songs (and some rubbish ones too).

The episode where Mr Schuester was violent with his wife in Season One? Where the entire episode mocked those with hearing difficulties, ending with the gang interrupting the deaf glee choir and taking over their song! The episode where they pretended to be in wheelchairs to get jobs? The pandering to stereotypes (even though Chris Colfer is the best thing in it)?

It claims to be reversing prejudice by handling it in a black or ironic way but it does it in such a laughing way that there's nothing subversive about it at all.

Sue Sylvester has some funny lines, yep. But it doesn't add up to much.
