To not really care what other people earn, how big their houses are and whether or not they send their children to private schools or down mines?

It's all getting a bit much on here- every other thread seems to be whinging about other people's financal situation, whether it be on benefits or high wages. Is this just what happens in a recession? Or is it shiny Dave?

Whatever it is, may I just announce: do what you like with your money, I Do Not Need To Know, Nor Do I Care.

Ah, that feels better.

And lets not forget the Kumon coal-definition technique, they'll know their anthracite from their bituminious by the time they are 2. Tabitha and Tristan next door insisted that their little Leopold was progressing far more quickly with Steiner, but frankly, all he seems to do is throw the stuff around, can't even spell Lignite!

Dear Mine Owner,

Please let me know how I can claim on the company insurance as Farquahars hotchpotch Boden tunic was utterly ruined while working last week.

Have you considered a uniform we could all buy at the mine shop?

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:46

LauriefairyonthetreeEatsCake (points to the Boden high-vis section, while feeling utterly mortified for you...)

DH and I are very much against private mining for a whole variety of reasons.

However, we have worked our arses off to be able to afford a house in the catchment area of a very highly regarded national mine. It really pisses me off how you all seem to think that we have been playing the system. Angry

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:59

Oh so private mining is wrong, is it? Just think, if we all went national, how much more you would have to pay in income tax, I suppose you work outside the home, too?

Scandalous.

YANBU. we should all fight the urge to covert and be jealous and the only time we should care is when people don't have enough and are suffering.

don't think capitalism would last very long without envy and greed though :)

MargaretGraceBondfield · 17/01/2011 20:11

It's so boring when everyone else seems to know what makes others rich or poor....never was anything so complex, that people pretend is so fucking simple.

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 20:12

Of course it is GooseFatRoasties it's just that our little Scarletts are terribly G&T and the local (shudder) national mine does seem to attract a different sort of child. And before anyone thinks badly of me, please note I voted liberal in the last election.

BitOfFun · 17/01/2011 20:13

You got a good clegging there then Katie.

GooseFatRoasties · 17/01/2011 21:19

sobloodystupid · 18/01/2011 20:59

We recycle everything all the byproducts of the mine etc. However, Margaret Thatcher called earlier regarding our mine not working optimally. Must go as littlest one is playing with the slag now ...
