To not really care what other people earn, how big their houses are and whether or not they send their children to private schools or down mines?

It's all getting a bit much on here- every other thread seems to be whinging about other people's financal situation, whether it be on benefits or high wages. Is this just what happens in a recession? Or is it shiny Dave?

Whatever it is, may I just announce: do what you like with your money, I Do Not Need To Know, Nor Do I Care.

Ah, that feels better.

And I have the appropriate column on my spreadsheet Wink.

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:00

bibbitybobbityhat I'm with you girl, other peoples lives are fascinating.Grin

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 17/01/2011 19:00

What you confused about Pheebes - tis true in this country (England) - apologies if you're abroad, should've said.

onceamai · 17/01/2011 19:02

YANBU - the only thing that really matters is whether other people can use a knife and fork properly Grin.

TanteAC · 17/01/2011 19:07

You see, it is precisely because it is such bad manners to talk about these things, and because I would not spend more than 3 minutes with someone who really thought it was all important in RL, that I am soooo addicted to those kind of threads.

I believe it is called voyeurism. Love it!

ApocalypseCheeseToastie · 17/01/2011 19:07

But then what will nosy cows like me do eh ?? Grin

Ladymuck · 17/01/2011 19:09

Are we allowed to send our children down mines? Are there any close to the Surrey border?

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:13

Only if you don't get grassed up to the SS Ladymuck Wink

pointydug · 17/01/2011 19:16

I'd make a bit of a noise if people were sending their kids down minds. A bit of tutting and sighing maybe.

UnquietDad · 17/01/2011 19:18

Can minors be miners?

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:18

I might raise a perfectly waxed eyebrow...

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:18

Not in pedants corner, they can't.....

BitOfFun · 17/01/2011 19:19

Only a bit though. I mean, who are we to judge? The mother might just be at the end of her rope with the child tied to the other.

I think MN would be campaigning for the mine to have an After School Club and a healthy snacks policy.

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:24

And a "no PJ's on the mine run" rule

UnquietDad · 17/01/2011 19:25

Moving house to get your child into the best mine?

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:26

Mine catchment is better than your catchment.

UnquietDad · 17/01/2011 19:28

"OMG I could not believe it, Sebastian's supervisor pronounces coal as 'coooooooooaaaal'. I can't believe that he is picking this up and using it at home. I'm also not happy with their Davy Safety Lamp Procedure and will be mentioning it to the Pit Boss asap. And the other Mine Gate Mums look at me a bit funny because I insist on giving him organic hummus and wholemeal pitta bread with salad in his Snap Tin."

Has anyone used a mining tutor and still not got into their first-choice mine?

KatieScarlett2833 · 17/01/2011 19:31

UQD PMSL

UnquietDad · 17/01/2011 19:31

"Does anyone think I am being unreasonable for insisting that Jemima should be moved up to the Day Shift? She is obviously G&T as she is getting very bored with the basic techniques taught on the Night Shift. She can handle a pickaxe better than anyone in her class and the other day when I went to collect her she was explaining to Kieron how to use his lamp, which I don't think is a very good use of her time."

NinkyNonker · 17/01/2011 19:31

As long as they use a nice, wooden pick and spade...none of this plastic tat.
