Have you seen this

The Royal Wedding is a glorious excuse to pish tax payers money down the swanney on the excuse that it might "cheer us all up".

And that doll looks nothing like Kate Middleton.

RespectTheDoughnut · 17/01/2011 18:03

I've just pre-ordered one as well Grin

Strictly · 17/01/2011 18:04

Mists, I need that!

taintedpaint · 17/01/2011 18:08

Grin at the boycott. What on earth were a commercial company thinking when they decided to make money from a massive public event? Smacked bottoms all around for the ELC bosses.

FFS.

InPraiseOfBacchus · 17/01/2011 18:11

"Happyland should do more events, like Happyland Olympics with mini versions of the actual athletes."

I heard some of the athletes were pretty mini already!

mutznutz · 17/01/2011 18:13

The royals have made enough bloody money out of us over the years so why not Grin

InPraiseOfBacchus · 17/01/2011 20:05

For everyone saying that this is a terrible thing, why? How is it different from ELC "cashing in" on the fact that trains exist, or that kids like noise?

cocoachannel · 17/01/2011 20:13

Got to have one! Preordering.

ELC should have started this thread themselves- loads of sales off the back of this!

MogTheForgetfulCat · 17/01/2011 20:17

Ha ha! That is brilliant! Would get for DS2 (he loves Happyland) but suspect DH would grumpily veto the purchase Grin.

MsKLo · 17/01/2011 20:19

but it might be worth a FORTUNE in years to come if you leave it in the box?!
it is quite cute, but she isnt having a carraige is she?!

MsKLo · 17/01/2011 20:44

oh dear, i have just ordered one...

stewmaker · 18/01/2011 10:38

Me too Blush

stewmaker · 18/01/2011 10:39

I think she is having a carriage after the ceremony, just not before......... *MsKlo

moomaa · 18/01/2011 12:10

me too, DD will love it (and me too)

pastadoble · 18/01/2011 12:24

I think ELC should pay OP commission because I'm ordering one for me DD Smile

TurkeyBurgerThing · 18/01/2011 12:32

OMG those are so cute!

gingercat12 · 18/01/2011 12:44

We have seen it with DH. Could not believe it. Especially the corgi.

SeaTrek · 18/01/2011 12:59

This just makes me sad that DS is too old for happyland now Sad. I think it is great!

cherrycat · 09/02/2011 21:08

if you don't like it dont but it! As for cheap plastic crap what on earth does your kid play with then karmabeliever? Fine bone china?

Hulababy · 09/02/2011 21:13

I love that royal wedding set! Considered getting for the Y1 class I work in. Would go well with out castle theme at the moment.

Mind you, the royal wedding itself doesn't bother me. If nothing else it is a day off :)

And Happyland is def not in the cheap plastic tat department for me. DD had loads of Happyland when little. Itwasn't cheap. It was very durable, well made and lasted constant play for a long time, and then sold on (via MN as it happens) all the different sets within 30 minutes of posting them for sale, all for my asking price of half their rrp. Happyland was worth every penny.

Blatherskite · 09/02/2011 21:35

We got our Royal Wedding set last week. Box was trashed by Royal Mail which helped with the decision to take it out of the box. DD loves them.

MilkNoSugarPlease · 09/02/2011 22:32

I would boycott ELC for a variety of reasons...but not that! I LOVE that playset!

jessiealbright · 09/02/2011 22:36

I really like the inclusion of the corgi!

Booandpops · 09/02/2011 22:42

I'm getting one. It's awesome.

Booandpops · 09/02/2011 23:03

Op. I think you may have helped elc sell a few more. I've just pre ordered.

MangoTango · 09/02/2011 23:20

I love it and have placed my preorder.
