en suites are over=rated imo but I'd expect not to be able to see the neighbours that's for sure.

SecretNutellaFix · 15/01/2011 23:22

A footballers house without a doubt
and another there are loads of them in this area.

solo · 16/01/2011 00:13

...and all I want is a third bedroom...

Tramadol · 16/01/2011 00:18

I dislike ensuites so much. Ive currenty sold to rent but my next house will not have an ensuite. Horrid things.

solo · 16/01/2011 00:20

Why Tramadol?
I have a bathroom and toilet combined; a very small room and two Dc's. It would make my life so much easier to have basically a private bathroom.

Tramadol · 16/01/2011 00:23

They are not much use. You cant use them in the night because it wakes the other one of us up. We always used the main bathroom. What I am looking for in my next house is an additional main bathroom.

kickassangel · 16/01/2011 00:24

i like that castle that ivy linked to - seems quite cheap. glad there's a drive round to the back, though - imagine carrying the shopping in up all those stairs at the front!

solo · 16/01/2011 00:27

Oh ok. I wouldn't be waking anyone else up, so it'd make no difference if I had one, but I see why you think that way.

Quattrocento · 16/01/2011 00:27

I think en-suite bathrooms are brilliant for guests and children - who then don't clog up the main bathroom and get some degree of privacy.

I do agree that DH who (occasionally, ahem) has to get up in the night to nip to the loo, does wake me up. But in fairness he would wake me up whether he went to the main bathroom or our en-suite.

I don't think a house can have too many bathrooms, frankly

gaelicsheep · 16/01/2011 00:29

The house has 3 bathrooms. How many do you need?!

Quattrocento · 16/01/2011 00:32

I have five myself. Wouldn't like to go down to three.

kickassangel · 16/01/2011 00:34

i agree with quattro - it's the getting out of bed that wakes me up most. our en-suite toilet is further from the bed than the 'powder room' one off the hallway next to our bedroom.

our bathroom also has loads of space for toiletries, good lighting etc. dh knows it's mine - if i'm in there for a while he just slope off to use another one.

the only down side is cleaning them all.

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2011 00:34

If you can pay that much for a house you can afford to have it altered however you like.

Some people don't like en suite bathrooms

Also you may have picked up by now that it is not "on sweet", as delboy would say :o

cantspel · 16/01/2011 00:38

why would anyone want an en suite. I couldn't think of anything worse than laying in bed at night listen to my oh take a crap and then have the sweet aroma drift through the bedroom.
bathrooms are the way to go preferably at least 2 doorways from the bedroom.

kickassangel · 16/01/2011 00:49

cantspel - ours is quite a long way away, with a half wall, and a door. not so much of a problem.

still liking that castle, and thinking it's a bit of a bargain.

gaelicsheep · 16/01/2011 00:52

Dear God, we have one bathroom and that's downstairs.
