I'll breastfeed where I bloody well want when my baby is hungry!

Following on from another thread that got the old cogs whirring, I am always saddened by the fact that some people have a problem with women breastfeeding in public and expect bf mums to 'hide away' because it makes them feel uncomfortable.

I will always bf my baby where-ever and whenever she wants a feed and if someone doesn't like the fact that I am giving her amazing milk with amazing benefits they can do one!

So it seems.

lisianthus · 13/01/2011 21:10

Heh! This reminds.me of when I was wondering why a couple were giving me the evils and then realized it was because I was feeding DD. At Heathrow. Did they really think it was sensible to take a baby screaming with hunger onto a plane? I really wish no-one cared, but unfortunately that's not true.

IBlameThePenguins · 13/01/2011 21:12

YADNBU.. and i've breast fed in church!!!

MsKLo · 13/01/2011 21:12

Goodness how many hormonals out there who can't take a joke...

Yes its hard, just like many other aspects of parenting that people get on with and dont feel the need to run around screeching about Hmm seriously do you have so little to feel good about yourself for you need to hammer home the fact you breastfed your kids?

toeragsnotriches · 13/01/2011 21:15

Does anyone actually care? Think I had a few double takes but nothing more serious.

Actually, the only person I know who has faced any real sort of abusive questioning of her baby feeding choices is my friend, who bottle fed, and was routinely bullied about it by the lactivist activists round here. Sad

All parents who make it out of the house with a small baby deserve support, and to be cut just a little slack from the general public - not just those lucky enough to be giving their kids the most amazing start in life.

usualsuspect · 13/01/2011 21:16

You know what MsKLo , in the real world no one cares

Gemsy83 · 13/01/2011 21:16

Ahh yes resort to the 'hormonal' type jokes...misogynist as well as troll?

redshinyshoes · 13/01/2011 21:17

Gemsy83 - can't see anyone screeching... Why does it bother you that someone wants to post about breastfeeding their kids?

Gemsy83 · 13/01/2011 21:19

Red- im not the only person who has expressed the same view- why must you continually pick at MY posts when others say the same things in threads?

Pumpster · 13/01/2011 21:21

I only feel awkward when finding the boob and latching dd on it. Noone has ever said anything to me - i do cover the exposed bit with a muslin though!
Breastfeeding crusaders make me a bit Hmm did anyone see that woman on the extended bfing programme on a while ago- she dragged her husband miles and miles to breastfeed her huge toddler in a room full of ooh 30 people all bfing. Worra twat.

soggy14 · 13/01/2011 21:23

YANBU - keep on squirting

Gemsy and usualsuspect can't help themselves that's why

It is actually funny to see them raging and blah blah about who cares etc

If you are so unbothered about who cares why do you post? Hilarious

MsKLo · 13/01/2011 21:26

Gemsy83 · 13/01/2011 21:27

Wow MsKLo be careful as everyone will be in utter awe of your maturity as well as breastfeeding abilities Hmm

MsKLo · 13/01/2011 21:30

The fact that you are still here screeching away speaks volumes about you gemsy! Hilarioussssss

OP posts:
redshinyshoes · 13/01/2011 21:30

I do find it strange that people who "don't care" then spend time screeching about how they " really don't care" Hmm

redshinyshoes · 13/01/2011 21:32

Not just you Gemsy btw

MsKLo · 13/01/2011 21:32

I am having fun responding to the women who 'don't care' about this but are still here screeching - if that is trolling so be it
If they don't like the subject they can walk away!

OP posts:
Gemsy83 · 13/01/2011 21:33

Its called responding to your 'point'...if you wish people not to do so why post it?
Red that made zero sense tbph.

MsKLo · 13/01/2011 21:33

Aiiiii
They really really really don't care!

OP posts:
MarianneM · 13/01/2011 21:34

Why is it that people here get downright aggressive the moment someone posts something positive about breastfeeding? Why is it not ok to feel proud to breastfeed?

As it's been pointed out, since the vast majority of women in Britain formula feed their babies, perhaps these "crusades" Hmm are needed to encourage more women to breastfeed! And I really disagree with the point of view that it doesn't make any difference whether you breast- or formula feed, that it should be ENTIRELY down to the woman's choice - if a woman is able to breastfeed her baby, and since it is a fact that breastmilk is far better for the baby, why are women so unable to put the needs of their babies ahead of their own in this respect?

And the people who bang on about the topic being so boring, no one cares, why are you posting here??? Any thread that mentions breastfeeding always has LOADS of responses so what rubbish to say no one cares!

I guess I'm in for it now. Oh well.

GooseFatRoasties · 13/01/2011 21:35

Pointless argument.
