Kissing on the lips.

I'm fairly conservative when it comes to hugs/kisses goodbye and hello, and so are my family which is why I want others perspective on this.

We spent some time staying with DH's family over Christmas. When it was time to leave it was the usual kisses on the cheek/hugs goodbye, until I come to my FIL. He intentionally kissed me on the lips. Is this weird? I thought it was weird, and was definately not comfortable with it. AIBU?

I've just recalled another incident with him that made me feel icky. When DS was newborn and we were still in the hospital. They arrived just as DS wanted feeding, and obsviously having just popped him out I wasn't very 'tidy' with BF so made hints, which MIL took and diverted her attention, FIL on the other hand just stood, and stared, for ages.

I know lots of people who do it including my FIL. I think no big deal.

OTheHugeManatee · 12/01/2011 16:02

My stepfather pats me on the bum sometimes when I give him a hug to say hello or goodbye. He's a great bloke, and I get on really well with him, but I do find the bum pat a bit Hmm.

No. It was only a second before I whirled away from him and it takes me at least 45 5 minutes to get warmed up, as it were.

Hullygully · 12/01/2011 16:08

sez you

Innit Hullygully

ShirleyKnot · 12/01/2011 16:09

sorry fanella.

I think your FIL sounds a bit creepy, but you do just need to prepare yourself for the inevitable fingering in the kitchen...no, sorry, I'm getting flashback now...I think definately taking control helps and just do a cheery "BYEEE!" and kiss HIM on the cheek.

Hullygully · 12/01/2011 16:10

Or grasp his penis and twist lovingly and hard

FanellaFidge · 12/01/2011 16:12

I'm scratching my eyes out at reading that Shirley.

Thanks Hully for putting the word 'cum' on a thread about my FIL.

You lot are supposed to help

ugh!! I was wondering about this today. My pils are very kissy-i am not-kiss my kids and dh and thats that.I hate coming or going with them cos they sort of home in for a kiss and come towards me like zombies whilst i try to duck them.Mil seems to have picked it up and gives up fil however is relentless in his persuit of the kiss and will often do it an hr after hes arrived-wtf is that all about, they also gate crashed a weekend break of ours and i was in the hot tub in my bikini.Thery jsut stood and stared at me despit me saying several times "why dont you look around whilst i get out" eventually i had to do that thing when you pull the towell into the water to get out,i found that really odd.

bupcakesandcunting · 12/01/2011 16:19

A thread of this type with Hully involved could only go
one way... Grin

bupcakesandcunting · 12/01/2011 16:21

They are swingers ledkr and they were sizing you up. Soz.

MittzyBittzyTeenyWeeny · 12/01/2011 16:23

My Exes Ex did the Goosing thing to me in a night club Hmm

And an uncle who breathes with hot breathe 'you look lovely my dear' in a weird voice into my ear when we cheek kiss.

But I am a big Noer to kissing on the lips. Really don't like it unless it is someone I am planning to be further intimate with.

It makes a me a bit sicky to be honest.

OTheHugeManatee · 12/01/2011 16:30

Shirley Are you seriously saying an elderly in-law went to fondle your fanjo at a party?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH

Shodan · 12/01/2011 16:38

Nothing wrong with a nice firm handshake, IMO.

That's handshake, please note. No other appendages, Hully.

i dont think your being unreasonable at all with that, this happened to me with my partners uncle Blush and made me feel very very uncomfortable, but i think it was a genuine mis moving of the head, i hope lol

DuplicitousBitch · 12/01/2011 16:46

shirley - maybe he was checking you weren't a man? do you pack alot of pubes?

ShowOfHands · 12/01/2011 16:50

Oh sweet moses Shirl. That's put me right off my lasagne.

My DH's step grandfather always kisses on the lips. He's old. It may be the only pleasure he gets. I should have screamed the first time he did it tbh but it's been years.

DuplicitousBitch · 12/01/2011 16:53

my fil squeezes my tits and makes a comedy honking noise
