and asks him to text you to arrange a date, as he's liked you for the last two years and now you're finally single....he should reply to the text you send.

Angry

I wasn't even that bothered before.

Confused

Can't be that impossible if he was interested in the first place :)

At party act disinterested. If he talks to you, be nice but do not act like you're gagging for it. After all, it's his loss, not yours. Just remember what a tosser he is.

And definitely no more messaging.

garageflower · 11/01/2011 22:08

Thanks Sarah Smile

Oh no, no more messaging - haven't done since the NYD text and don't intend to.

Onwards and upwards - this single life is a minefield!

Tell me about it. I think I shall officially give up after the weekend. Am meeting up with an old flame. You know, Him, The One That Got Away, Soulmate bollocks etc etc. If he's interested I shall give it a whirl. If not, methinks it may be time to retire gracefully. Too many oddbods out there and I CBA to sift through them all lol.

garageflower · 11/01/2011 22:16

Oooh Sarah, very exciting but I imagine quite nervewracking to? You have the butterflies?

Is it a date or a case of you'll be in same place at same time?

I'm happy as I am for now and just looking forward to the next potentially exciting butterfly situation. I just hope to meet some men who behave logically and rationally Smile

OP posts:
ILovedYou · 11/01/2011 22:26

Sorry but i think he has gone off the idea of the date

SarahStrattonsBaubles · 11/01/2011 22:27

Lol I guess there must be one or two of them out there. Somewhere. Yes a date, just lunch. I keep telling myself there is a reason why he is an ex. I just can't help that nobody has ever measured up to him.

He will be horrific. Won't he Grin

BeenBeta · 11/01/2011 22:28

garageflower - I know I am a bloke and simple and all that but after careful reading of your posts I am still trying to figure out if you actually sent a text with a suggested date to meet up. I dont think you did.

You have to think literal. The poor bloke is sat there waiting for a text with a date a day a time and a _place on it saying when and where you would like to meet him.

At the moment, it appears he has nothing but a chatty non comital 'how are you' text at New Year.

He thinks he has be blanked by you. Hence he has not replied. Seriously, that is how I read it.

CraigRevelPan · 11/01/2011 22:42

Agree with BB - no surprise at all at not responding.

Also, just refelcting on the notion that blokes are the 'weird ones'....a woman sends a non-commital text, then is surprised at no response, but does get all worked up at how she will look when next she sees him, and meanwhile explains all of this to a bunch of strangers on the internet. kettle.thingy. black. Noooooo...LISTEN TO US!! WE TALK SENSE!!

ScotlandR · 11/01/2011 22:56

Dear GOD, you would think this was a student forum, with it's talk of facebook and phonenumbers!!

How far have you been with a boy? Don't you have something more important to do?! Like pre-freezing a weeks worth of nutritionally balanced homecooked meals!?

God, I. AM. GETTING. OLD.

hobbgoblin · 11/01/2011 22:56

BoF put it perfectly - you chased back. At least you know now he likes the thrill of the chase but possibly lacks the commitment.

BeenBeta · 11/01/2011 23:00

shineon - while we are on the subject have you read the actual original post in this thread?. It doesnt make any sense at all.

I am still struggling to figure out who is supposed to be doing what to whom. Grin

madness, I tell you. Hey-ho.

BeenBeta · 11/01/2011 23:13

Good grief! At this rate, the bloke would have to be psychic to actually work out that he was being chased.

Here is the comunication that should have been sent.

"Hi,

It was nice to see you the other day. Yes it would be nice to meet up. How about say tomorrow, at 12.30 for a drink at xxxxx?

Looking forward to it.

All the best garageflower"

Sothisishowwedoitnow · 11/01/2011 23:19

I would run a f*cking mile if someone I hardly knew sent me that text, far too pushy.

Maylee · 11/01/2011 23:20

I reckon (cause I'm wise like that Wink) he may have met someone in the meantime. So he doesn't want to 'two-time' but doesn't want to rule you out either - cause he's liked you for so long. Plausible?

CraigRevelPan · 11/01/2011 23:24

I think people have stopped reading the OP here, though the thread title and the OP do not link well at all, hence confusion. BB is right. Nice and clear. Option to decline open. Easy for any confused woman to understand....

said · 11/01/2011 23:28

She can't text him again though. Not now. I do hope there's a post-party update though - I reckon something may happen...

BeenBeta · 11/01/2011 23:36

Sorry to shout but this is clearly not getting through.

SHE HAS NOT SENT THE TEXT HE IS WAITING FOR.

CatFlaps · 11/01/2011 23:36

I thought maybe he has met someone else. Please don't chase though! Look really hot at the party so he can see what he's missing out on! But don't ask him if he got your text, else you'll look like your totally hung up on him!

RedHeels · 11/01/2011 23:48

I'm marking my place to see the future update.

Not offering any advice, because if I knew why men did anything, I would not be sitting here alone following what crap you lot spew discuss Grin.

tallwivglasses · 12/01/2011 00:01

Loving the boys' take on this - but I'd say put it out of your mind, look stunning at the party (you WILL!) and play it by ear.

Also looking forward to a future update Wink
