So you think that women should be able to scream during labour without disapproval?
Well Done. Grin

bupcakesandcunting · 11/01/2011 19:03

Oh you were the screaming in labour woman? I stayed off that thread because I agreed with you but didn't fancy get my buns toasted Grin

Mumcentreplus · 11/01/2011 19:05

Ha!..you are forgiven my dear Grin

lochnessmumster · 11/01/2011 19:06

What am I missing?I don't get it. Why would anyone disapprove of women screaming in labour?

GwynAndBearIt · 11/01/2011 19:07

YANBU. Apology accepted :)

You do now accept that women are free to do whatever makes them feel good during labour then?

nowonthepill · 11/01/2011 19:11

Is this re. the woman last night on one born every minute? I thought she was ridiculous, not just because it was way over the top but because she must have been using up so much energy! Admittedly with my first, I screamed during the pushing stage and got told off by the midwife, said I should focus all efforts on getting baby out not making noise, although peed off, it was actually best advice, baby born in minutes after.

bupcakesandcunting · 11/01/2011 19:13

I agree with nowonwthepill. Like AuntiePickle, I thought the woman on OBEM was ridiculous. I'm not against screaming in labour per se, just her particular screaming. It was just nuts. Even the obstetrician was finding it hard to keep a straight face Grin

lochnessmumster · 11/01/2011 19:15

Aaah I see. Thanks for that GwynAndBearIt.Smile

nowonthepill · 11/01/2011 19:18

Plus she must have been putting other mums on the ward off, especially that young gal (I presume it was her she could here screaming in the background, unless it was another one!) Not great for a first time mum to hear, you'd think a murder was taking place!

bupcakesandcunting · 11/01/2011 19:20

At forst I felt sorry for her. I was saying to DH "she must be finding it sooo hard" but then not many people find labour a cakewalk and they don't wail like they're being murdered Grin Bless her though, her baby was adorable. Good luck to them :)

DublinMammy · 11/01/2011 19:21

Missed the programme and this thread last night but pissed myself laughing just now reading it - well done AuntiePickle, you certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons. Personally I found grunting like a hog more effective than screaming but each to their own - I may try meowing for the next one.

LoveBeingADaddysGirl · 11/01/2011 19:22

YABU stick to your guns

nowonthepill · 11/01/2011 19:23

Yea her baby was super cute, if not a little deafened! :)

bupcakesandcunting · 11/01/2011 19:23

DH said I made cooing noises like a wood pigeon. He said it was very relaxing to listen to.

Cain · 11/01/2011 19:24

Too much Vodka on a Monday night?

Hardcore!

nowonthepill · 11/01/2011 19:25

Auntiepickle: I say you must join in after a few drinks = best discussions! Though didn't read the thread so perhaps i should take that back :o

AuntiePickleBottom · 11/01/2011 19:32

i am using the rest of my hoilday from work, the only reason i was drinking last night.

other wise i would of been up at 5am and there is no way i could do that with having vodka the night before

clumsymumluckybaby · 11/01/2011 19:44

ahhh,vodka induced...

makes so much more sense now Grin

Cain · 11/01/2011 20:12

Auntie (ooo that makes me feel warm and fuzzzy) don't worry about it.

I'm surprised though, having alcohol usually makes me more accepting of extreme emoting.

Cut some slack though, giving birth really, really hurts and I challenge anyone to deal with it in a premeditated way.

Unless you opt for a C section in which case you go girl, feel free to breath gently through pouted, lip lined and glossed lips to your hearts content.

tomhardyismydh · 11/01/2011 20:16

i liked that thread. Grin
