To hate the expression 'mummy friends'

I have old friends who now have kids so they are mummies, I have friends that I met at the school gates who I got on with and ended up having a good laugh with and they are now friends and I have friends at work that I get on brilliantly with and meet up with socially and some of them have children. But I don't have 'mummy' friends and find the expression a bit twee.

Much as I hate the phrase I have been guilty of using it, though do say Mum Friends rather than Mummy. It refers to a group of friends who I have met through my son going to school and though they did start off as aquaintences only they are now a very close set of friends.
However if my work friends ask who weve been out with at the weekend it is easier to explain which group I have been with my using the Mum friends title.

But I HATE HATE HATE (cannot stress it enough) the term Playdate and would never use it! We just say we had people round.

I hate it too. My friends don't have categories. Just your basic friends and sworn enemies.
