of your children's Christmas presents on facebook is incredibly naff?
I mean why would you do that?
Why would you think that any of your friends are interested?
Dont get me wrong its lovely to see pics of kids opening them all excited on Christmas morning but who the hell wants to see a picture of a massive pile of presents?

Cripes I saw the topic title and thought someone had posted photos of their "piles".

PErhaps I've looked at too many medical books. :(

Baroqin, I looked at your christmas pics on FB and loved them. What stands out on them more than anything is the look of pure joy on your ds's little faces, for me your pictures summed up Christmas perfectly, a family filled with happiness and love

FrameyMcFrame · 01/01/2011 22:34

If you can't give your kids a lovely big pile of pressies on Christmas day because of your 'principles' I'm guessing you're not much of a fun parent.
This worthy parenting that's becoming all the rage is really tiresome, I'm guessing the children of these worthy types will be the ones in therapy when they are adults.

Our boys had a pile of presents each - we don't spend a fortune by any means, and nor do our friends and relatives, but we all appreciate the thought that people have put into gifts for us. I also enjoy filling stockings for them - I don't spend a fortune on that, but find fun things to put in (as well as socks, boxers, showergel etc - stuff I'd buy for them anyway when they needed them, but that add to the rustling joy of unwrapping).

I loved looking at Baroqin's video and photos of her boys opening their presents, because it showed such happiness and joy, and I was grateful to her for sharing that with her friends. I also thought it was a wonderful demonstration of the very real good that the mumsnet secret santa did.

Baroqin I love your pics on FB so don't stop Smile

Your boys are sooooo cute, little heartbreakers when they are older, and in the xmas pics they looked so happy and genuinely grateful for everyone of them presents.

Plus I'm a right nosey cow and like staring into other peoples life Blush

I post loads of pics on FB as well and was very gutted when my dad forgot his camera (asked him to bring his as mine is broke) and found my mobile was dead so I have NO pics of my 4DC opening their presents at all Sad

I gave MN a break for a while so missed the whole secret santa thing, I think it's wonderful that so many people reached out to others that they only know through a screen, it's brilliant and why I love MN so much Smile
