Disclaimer: This is NOT a netmums bashing thread. Each to their own and all that, BUT...

I wish, I wish, I wish that several years ago I hadn't looked at netmums and subsequently dismissed "parenting" websites as dull, trite places with earnest mums discussing potty training and the advantages of huggies over pampers.

I was completely put off and only strayed onto MN about a year ago (namechanged a bit while I made an arse of myself at the beginning).

If only I'd got confused and typed MN instead.

im working will meander over there tonight

'moldies' should really be spelled MNoldies, I think.

Am also heavily at the thought of SM on NM. They'd have a meltdown in their haste to delete her!

SM - you are many things, but pink and sparkly never spring to mind when I think of you. I don't think you'd like it there - you have to mind your ps and qs. Grin

I'll tell you a secret, Mardy

I joined netmums when I opened my shop - I mainly did it because I had a weekly Story-Time and I wanted to advertise it for free locally.

Then one day, I had an email from Mumsnet - don't know why, I think I must have signed up for it from links on google. (it was the round-up email)(it's more likely that I couldn't find the forums and googled it that way)

anyway, i assumed it was NM and logged on - was terribly shocked at the behaviour (yes, I went on AIBU and got caught in a vegetarianism battle - even reported a poster for swearing at another poster in a nasty fashion)
but decided to have a look round, and havn't left.

Very rarely went on NM since - seemed very pink and purple and a bit boring (cos i don't have kids and that's all they talk about)

can't even remember my log-in.

don't tell anyone, though - they might laugh at me Wink

Oops I'm on Nm as well as MN! Grin

I don't mind NM really but you can't say anything without mods coming along and deleting it!

Few weeks go there was a huge argument on there someone was rushed to A&E due to the nastiness Wink Was so pissed off when they deleted it, was giving me a right laugh!

If I am feeling delicate it's NM if not it's MN.

I do like their boards though. Good to get rid of unwanted baby stuff.

I do found there though that there are a lot annoying mums, like the ones that never make a mistake in their life or the ones that tell me formula should be banned. That one pisses me off. Angry

LittleMissHootsMon · 31/12/2010 22:44

PMSL, izzywizzywoowoo.. with a name like that it'd be a shock if you WEREN'T on NM... Grin

Someone rushed to A&E due to nastiness? [lightweight emoticon]

Can you imagine the Medical Report file? PMSL...

Or the Drs follow up?

Dr: So Mrs Hunny-Mummy, I see you have recently been to Super-St-Michael's A&E suffering from the noxious effects of itchiness and hun-intolerance. How are you now? Feeling better?

Mrs H-M: Oh yes Dr, I've had a Greggs Emergency Pack and stuck the kids on the DS with Fruitshoots and crisps for the weekend and I'm pretty much back to normal.

Mrs H-M: You sure Mrs Hunny-Mummy? I could sign you off for another day or so at a PlayBarn and an All You Can Eat Harvester Trough Buffet?

Mrs H-M: No, no, I'm fine, got a week at Centre Parks Arseend-o-Nowhere, I'll be fine.

Yeah, had an attack due to a lively debate about the BNP! Confused

Shame though, was just getting good and then they come delete it! :(
