Disclaimer: This is NOT a netmums bashing thread. Each to their own and all that, BUT...

I wish, I wish, I wish that several years ago I hadn't looked at netmums and subsequently dismissed "parenting" websites as dull, trite places with earnest mums discussing potty training and the advantages of huggies over pampers.

I was completely put off and only strayed onto MN about a year ago (namechanged a bit while I made an arse of myself at the beginning).

If only I'd got confused and typed MN instead.

MardyBra · 31/12/2010 01:31

OK so no heyday. But it would have been nice to have discovered it sooner and discovered what all the mums at the school gates were judging me about at the time...

I do prefer a nice..
'Can i squeeze my teenage son's spots'
Or
'My MIL is such a bitch'....
Or
'I have hairs on my chin..what shall i do'?

MardyBra · 31/12/2010 01:32

Oh shit, you're actually taking me seriously?

OP posts:
MardyBra · 31/12/2010 01:34

Plenty of chin hairs - could have got rid of them a couple of years ago with MN!

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 31/12/2010 01:34

if you want to hang with the actually its a split infinitive blah blah crew, jump in.no queue's just them bumping gums.no shitty stick beating you off that lot

no one much bothers with them

they however bother with everyone else and decline of mn and written words

BitOfFun · 31/12/2010 01:34

Goodness, no Grin

MardyBra · 31/12/2010 01:41

I like to deliberately split infinitives, "actually".

nappyaddict · 31/12/2010 01:42

I'm glad I found it when I was pregnant cos I've found out so much useful stuff. However I almost wish I hadn't cos I dread to think how many hours I've wasted on here when I should have been doing something else .... like sleeping.

giraffesCantGoFirstFooting · 31/12/2010 04:07

JackSawMamaKissingSantaClaus · 31/12/2010 04:11

Loving the idea of scottishmummy being called a big Scottish hoor, arf :o

JackSawMamaKissingSantaClaus · 31/12/2010 04:12

But seriously, those f*king tickers...

carrotcake29 · 31/12/2010 08:04

Oh shit - I thought this was Netmums...Shock

StealthPolarBear · 31/12/2010 08:08

I sometimes wish I had discovered MN earlier then I remember I had no interest in anything baby or child related :o

TakeYourFunWhereYouFindIt · 31/12/2010 10:13

I must admit, due to comments on other forums I always kind of lumped netmums/mumsnet together - to my eternal shame.

netmums makes my teeth itch, and don't even start me on the tickers (9 minutes, 43 seconds until my precious little snugglebum needs his nappiewappiewoo changing).

I started lurking here a wee while ago, and was pleasantly surprised - find myself flicking through the threads most days and invariably howling with laughter at some stage.

breatheslowly · 31/12/2010 10:47

I started on babycentre. Apparently it is wrong to call someone a "troll", but you can say their behaviour is "troll-like". I couldn't return as the flashbacks to primary school were too painful.

clumsymumluckybaby · 31/12/2010 11:00

SMP, Absolutely hilarious!!

plupervert · 31/12/2010 12:02

These "moldies" ought really to be spelling their moniker "mouldies".

Surely such spelling sets a bad example for those of us wet behind the ears!
