AIBU to think that childrens beautiful pageants are vile

I don't understand why any rational parent would slap om make up and set their little girl up to compete in beauty pagaents. I also get massively irritated with parents who put their kids photos onto to bonnie baby competitions online and ask me to vote for their plain looking child!

I think pageants are vile. Can't begin even to list the ways in which I think they are wrong (tho many above have highlighted a good deal of then).

The bonny baby competitions don't bother me so much - mostly cause so many of the babies entered into them are anything but .

I was tempted to enter ds1 into one when he was v. tiny cause he was absolutely gorgeous as a newborn (no really, he was). But luckily I never got round to it, I'd never have handled the rejection if he hadn't won.
