Not to want to go to the inlaws' tomorrow?

Can you help settle a argument disgreement DP and I have been having?

We live in Bristol and are supposed to be visiting DP's parents in a village in Kent tomorrow, and staying for a couple of days. We don't have a car, so the journey involves a coach to London and then a shortish train journey. We have a 4 month old baby.

I'm worried about the coach/train breaking down, being stuck with the baby, or getting snowed in at the inlaws. DP thinks I'm being ridiculous Hmm

Genuinely not sure if I'm BU or not! This is my first AIBU so be gentle Grin

op what did you decide to do?

CrazyChristmasLady · 21/12/2010 09:57

Hope you haven't gone.

YANBU, your DP is being selfish and irresponsible. Personally I would just refuse to go and let him get on with it. If he wants to take the risk that is up to him. I'm in the South West and haven't risked going out for the last few days, being nearly 8 months pregnant and having a toddler, plus I live in a little close with a steep hill and have had no chance of getting my car out.

I wouldn't.

We're seriously considering cancelling Manchester to Preston on Christmas Day, and that's with our own car, less than an hour's travel and with much milder wetaher than you've been having down south.

Our DD is 11 months.

Tell your husband to think of his child first, not himself or his parents. What does he imagine would happen if you did get stuck?

So hoping you've said no!

We have gone! Checked weather and traffic reports and with the coach and train companies and have been convinced we can make it there safely (have packed food and blankets just in case though).

I am prepared to find we'll be stuck at the inlaws over Christmas though.

Got there and back ok - were almost scuppered by a power cut at Orpington station though!
