To wonder when it became ok to be so fucking sanctimonious about someone's opinion!

I have noticed, in my time here, that in many replies to AIBU threads, the tone and content can be very high and mighty and just plain bloody rude!

Now, we all have differences of opinion, that is fine. I have nooooooo problem with someone disagreeing with me, but if they personally attack me and are rude, I am, and I have told them to fuck off back to their sanctamonious high chair!

There are many threads where I don't agree with the OP but I am not going to attack them and be rude (unless it is something that is as awful as hitting kids then Might be...). There are ways to reply and not attack surely? I mean, I don't agree with the lady who started a thread about her toddler wearing makeup bur I'm not gonna attack her personally for it. There are ways to reply and I find it bloody awful that some people on here think it is acceptable to personally attack OP's and be so rude.

Umm, no, I asked you if you would be proud of your daughter if she banged on like you have been. This is not insulting your daughter, it was simply to try and get you to look at how you are coming across. I'll rephrase it, if you like:

Look at yourself woman. Look at how nasty and vitriolic you have been on both these threads. Is that how you want to come across? Are you proud of yourself?

May I suggest you direct your anger somewhere more worthwhile? Perhaps you could join CND or something.

Ive really tried not to post on this thread OP, but after the way you typed a response at me the other day, I feel I have to.

It was the Aptimil facebook thread, I happened to say that I am choosing to ff, I wasnt asking for anyone`s opinions on this, just stating thats what I will be doing in a week or two when I have my baby.

You then demanded to know (actually you quoted me, but named the wrong person)why I wasnt breast feeding, then started to type at me about cancer, both for my child and for me, cot death and various other things, I`d stopped reading at that point and my exact thoughts were, how dare you question me and my decisions over my child, wondered why you felt you had to be so damn sanctimonious to a perfect stranger who wasnt asking for your opinion at all.

So, to answer your original question on this thread, when did it become ok to be so fucking sanctimonious about someone else? Well, in your case it was when you posted that really patronising, really sanctimonious, holier than thou, high and mighty reply to me, even though I hadnt asked a question of you in the first place
