To wonder when it became ok to be so fucking sanctimonious about someone's opinion!

I have noticed, in my time here, that in many replies to AIBU threads, the tone and content can be very high and mighty and just plain bloody rude!

Now, we all have differences of opinion, that is fine. I have nooooooo problem with someone disagreeing with me, but if they personally attack me and are rude, I am, and I have told them to fuck off back to their sanctamonious high chair!

There are many threads where I don't agree with the OP but I am not going to attack them and be rude (unless it is something that is as awful as hitting kids then Might be...). There are ways to reply and not attack surely? I mean, I don't agree with the lady who started a thread about her toddler wearing makeup bur I'm not gonna attack her personally for it. There are ways to reply and I find it bloody awful that some people on here think it is acceptable to personally attack OP's and be so rude.

I agree Pointy.

LoopyLoopsOfSparklyFairyLights · 19/12/2010 10:21

Oh, not you again and your overuse of the word 'sanctimonious'.

Do fuck off, there's a dear. :)

gorionine · 19/12/2010 10:26

I can only speak about my own experience obviously but whenever I read a post, I "see" (well imagine) the person actually saying it to me and get the tone of the post that way. Now very often I probably get it very wrong but when I read posts talking about "f. sanctimonious" I cannot really too off the mark thinking the autor is a bit rude.

MsKLo · 19/12/2010 10:26

Ok ladiessss! I am rude! I see it as being rude in retaliation but hey Ho! Fair enough to comments given here! I like it here, have been here in various guises over time so I think I'll stay and maybe get some sleep and lighten up! Seeing as it's Xmas an' all

Lol

And yes 'tis me about the dresses from MIL... But I'm my defence, if I can have a tiny one, she is a right funny one...

I think you should apologise for being nasty and bullying to both Lonnie and noble.

I also agree that you should lighten up. Either that or fuck off to under your bridge.

I didn't say the WHOLE of MN, when pray, did i say EVERYONE?

LoopyLoopsOfSparklyFairyLights · 19/12/2010 10:43

All they did was tell you that you were being unreasonable, which you asked in the first place.

Please take a step back and examine your attitude. Would you be proud of your daughter for this kind of exchange?

And please expand your vocabulary.

Yes, it is fine. Much better than being ignorant, rude, aggressive, bullying and illiterate.

I agree with OP, usually stay away from AIBU for exactly these reasons, it can be bitchier than the school playground, yawn.

ginhag · 19/12/2010 11:08

A thread about a thread that ends with lots of 'well you fuck off' type posts.

I've never seen that before on mn
