just because of how she is dressed?

Is this how we want girls to grow up? Knowing that they will be judged for what they wear rather than who they are? Surely they should be free to wear what they like without having to worry about how they are seen?

Angel Sometimes I do, my style is a bit random now. But corset plus jeans and t-shirt happens fairly often nowadays.

What does looking good mean? Against what template are you measuring?

adrenalinejunkie · 12/12/2010 01:52

imo someone who looks good is someone who feels confident in themselves they radiate feel goodness and that is very attractive no matter what you wear . Life is far too short to not wear soething just because someone else might not like it.

This is me in a corset. And I reckon I look sexy as fuck. Ok, I shouldn't be dismissed as stupid, but I am hardly asking anyone to glean my opinion on tuition fees.

My point (apart from being needy and attention-seeking, which is part of why I am desperately throwing that 5 year old slim picture in your face for validation Wink), is that there's a time and a place.

And being constantly needing sexual approval is tiresome and transitory.

I am not above asking people to tell me I look gorgeous, but I would rather make a mark on here and in the world for being funny , warm and intelligent. Because that stuff lasts, even though we all want to be thought of as pretty.

The picture doesn't work BOF. The point of me bringing up corsets though is that it isn't always about needing sexual approval, or attention. Sometimes clothes are worn just because they are liked.

Does this work?

KalokiMallow · 12/12/2010 02:09

Xmas Grin

I feel fucking fantastic looking at that. But that's sort of my point- I know it's a bit of an illusion- I have put on some weight since, and I generally wear casual stuff anyway. But it feels fabulous to make an effort and feel like the dog's bollocks. But I know it's unrealistic to do it every day, and much as I love my DP (who took the photo) to enjoy seeing me as that, I also want him to see past that and still love me if I'm ill, or tired, or overweight, or old. Especially old, because I want us to be together forever. Loving somebody is seeing the best of them, but also seeing the truth in them and still thinking they are beautiful.

KalokiMallow · 12/12/2010 02:18

Definitely agree with that.
