OP posts:
madonnawhore · 09/12/2010 10:55

I am probably BU but I don't like it when people wear jewellery that jangles. A woman I work with wears one of those Links charm bracelets and it's always tinkling and clacking aginst her keyboard. It gets on my tits.

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 09/12/2010 10:55

I have about four boxes of jewellery and change it every day. That's cOs I is a short fat arse who tries to look interesting.

GetOrfMoiLand · 09/12/2010 10:55

I can imagine the OP is sat there thinking oh sod off you boring knobbends and has fucked orf back to twitter.

WanderingInAWinterWonderland · 09/12/2010 11:00

I do choose my clothes at night but I don't have enough jewellery to change it everyday (if I did wear it everyday). I can't afford to have lots - if I have the money I'd rather spend it on a new outfit as that's what people notice - well I do anyway!

OP just accept the fact that it's you that is the loon! Xmas Wink Xmas Grin

kenobi · 09/12/2010 11:16

I'm not an unimaginative sod, I'm a lazy sod. Meh to changing my earrings

(though I have been informed this makes me a dirty SLUT).

Rollmops · 09/12/2010 11:19

Dear Piglet,
In view of your ever so insightful tidbit of thought: "... Floella has been wearing that heart thing since i was about 6..."

Firstly wtf is Floella? Your little mate from Reception perhaps? Confused

Secondly, don't worry your lee'le head about what other numpties pupils wear, it's very declasse to hang any ornaments jewellery on children anyway.

Thirdly, costume jewellery [boak], bling and cheap silver stuff should be banned as offencive and only family heirlooms and quality real jewels should be allowed in public places.
Hmm

As you were, dear.

DELHI · 09/12/2010 11:20

Why do you even care, Peppa? Something lacking in your life?

Grumpla · 09/12/2010 11:24

I wear the same rings every day (never take them off in fact)

I only wear necklaces and earrings when I go to work (as otherwise DS grabs them) and as it is work I tend to rotate the same few 'conservative' pieces.

I have a massive collection of sparkly dangly pretty stuff that I wear when I go out but it's not necessarily what I would wear for work.

I hate hate hate clattery bracelets on keyboards though madonnawhore I would have to have a word with her about that!

TrillianAstra · 09/12/2010 11:28

I have lots of earrings - prefer to have lots of costume jewellery in different colours than one pair of diamond studs. Yes, my necklace is made of plastic beads, it is supposed to be made of plastic beads, and I am fine wiht it looking as if it made of plastic beads.

PsecretSantead · 09/12/2010 11:29

Weird. YABU. And weird.

I wear the same necklace every day because DH bought it for me when we first got together and I have worn it every day since. It sometimes gets swapped for a fancy one when I get dressed up, but it's on every day.

bytheMoonlight · 09/12/2010 11:32

YABU .. as always.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 09/12/2010 11:33

If that is the worst you have to say about my appearance I am coming off lightly,
you could have mentioned the unwashed hair, the lack of make up, the slightly frazzled am going to freak out any minute glint to my eye, or the fact that the kids are drinking fruitshoot and eating sausage rolls for breakfast on the way to school Smile

dammedeitherway · 09/12/2010 11:33

yabu.

getorf - you are quite funny.

i wear diamond jewellery every day. i think the other stuff i own looks cheap compared to them and it matches my wedding rings and my watch. i sometimes wear my links bracelet but apparently that makes me a chav so i'll just slink off in my brand new uggs and sit on my leather sectional sofa alone :-(

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 09/12/2010 11:39

I have a mix of classic heirloomy stuff and costume jewellery. It depends on what you ae wearing, doesn't it? I like wearing more interesting costume things if the outfit is minimal.

I reckon Peppa has to branch out to enliven her look after all the poor pig has is that farking red dress doesn't she? Wink

kreecherlivesupstairs · 09/12/2010 11:53

I am clearly missing all the references to Peppa, however, OP YABU. I have three rings, one of them I can only wear in the summer when my finger is fatter and a pair of earrings. I don't take any of them out or off - except summer ring which is a lovely roman seal made into a ring. DH bought the seal in Ostia and we had it made into a ring in Essex.

Lynli · 09/12/2010 12:19

I wear a bracelet given to me by my FIL shortly before he died, to thank me for taking care of him. We had a long conversation where we said everything that needed to be said before he passed away.

I wear a ruby ring given to me by friends, it is the birthstone of my baby that died in the womb.

I have a ring given me by DH the first time he said he loved me.

These things are more important than fashion.

I think if you think people wear the same jewellery because they are unimaginative then I think you lack imagination.

TyraG · 09/12/2010 12:22

Is your life really that boring that you have nothing better to do than to sit around and eyeball what jewellery people are wearing on different days. Get a hobby for pete's sake.

bytheMoonlight · 09/12/2010 12:24

Judging Watching other people is OP's hobby Lynli, along with starting yawnsome threads

alemci · 09/12/2010 12:38

i do wear jewellery but some of it is such a tangle that it would take forever to sort out. always wear earings but lost a really nice one the other day. probably due to yanking scarves etc on and off all day.

sometimes i don't get time to think about it. surely it is what the person is like that counts not their appearance although I think it is good to make an effort if possible.

walkinginaWUKTERwonderland · 09/12/2010 12:41

YABU.
As for being UNIMAGINATIVE they may well be using their imaginations for things that matter.

coraltoes · 09/12/2010 12:45

dear Peppa, i can only assume you have a vast array of cheap tat that you accessorise with in order to achieve a completely different look each day. Some of us prefer quality over quantity, which naturally limits the pool from whence we select each morning. Nevertheless i'd rather wear my diamonds than shit from Accessorize cos "it looks different"

Sounds like you need to take a stroll to a proper jeweller. I think the prices of the good stuff might make you rethink your stance.

DaydreamDolly · 09/12/2010 12:46

Errr, yes YABU and have far too much time on your hands.

Lovecat · 09/12/2010 12:54

pmsl @ the slagging the fish is getting for spelling, lack of taste etc... :o

SpotSplatterSplash · 09/12/2010 13:06

Lol, I thought floella was dead.

MrsMills · 09/12/2010 13:14

. My, things have certainly changed around here.
