Why are so many people having a go at OP for wanting to know the sex of her baby?! How bloody rude! If she wants to know, why is it such a problem for some people? She is not asking that everyone else do what she does! Can you imagine the uproar if she said to those who wanted a surprise 'why didn't you find out?!'
Honestly - there are some really arsey replies on here, she wants yo find out, she is excited about it! Those who did not want to, fine, but grow up and stop attacking her for wanting to!

Silver1 · 06/12/2010 19:10

Crikey the OP is excited about her baby-and she wants to know all she can about the little bundle of loveliness in her belly, why on earth are people jumping down on her?
If you have made her feel horrible does that make you feel better?

Charleney · 06/12/2010 19:14

Seems to me that some people come on here to find easy targets Silver :)

I am new to MN nancydrewrockinaroundxmastree so perhaps I just don't understand what it's like on here, thanks for the headsup Smile

Nevertheless, more than happy to argue for the OPs right to get excited about her scan - good luck Charleney !

Charleney · 06/12/2010 19:29

Oh for God's sake [rolls eyes]

Cant understand at all while the OP is getting such a flaming. Think its a little ridiculous to assume that basically because shes excited about baby's gender that she doesnt care about baby's health/ health is not as important as gender. Dont be ridiculous.

No, OP of course YANBU. Not that its the issue but having not found out with dd and then finding out with ds I would definately opt for waiting for the suprise this time round. Just my twopence. I missed the whole announcement!! The very best of luck tomorrow and I'll have fingers crossed baby is not shy!!.

pink4ever · 06/12/2010 20:10

I am one of the mums who have poated on here about pregnancy loss(6) but I have no prob with the op being excited about her scan. We found out the gender with all our dcs(including the ones we lost). Partly because neither of us like surprises and are v impatient but also because we wanted to start bonding with the babies. I found it very helpful to know the sex(particularly with the babies I lost) as I felt I had had a chance to get to know them at least a little bit.
YANBU! and I hope that the scan goes well.

Serendippy · 06/12/2010 22:58

YANBU but obviously not a real problem. You wont care when it arrives anyway Grin

Serendippy · 06/12/2010 22:59

69, he he he

LoulouCapone · 07/12/2010 01:53

Hi Charleney- I'm having my scan tomorrow too and can't wait to find out what we're having, so I don't think ybu at all. This is our third, we have one of each already. With Dd we waited for the "surprise" at birth and as soon as she was out I promptly passed out, and drifted in and out for about an hour afterwards so I felt like I was the last to know. With Ds we found out and shock horror! It was still a surprise! (and I also passed out when he was born, which validated my decision!)

I'm worried about tomorrow for a multitude of reasons, like a heart condition that runs in our family, my inability to fall and remain pregnant and a close family member recently had bad news at her 20wk scan. But I also think it would be bloody typical if after all that worrying and the severe hyperemesis, the baby keeps it's legs crossed!

Good luck tomorrow. Smile

LoulouCapone · 07/12/2010 01:58

Ooh it's today now!

otchayaniye · 07/12/2010 07:18

I found out at 11 weeks (90 pct certainty) and was glad I did. Certainly didn't denude the surprise of giving birth. Besides, I had a scan every week or two weeks so it would have been nigh on impossible to keep it from me.

Won't be able to do the same with a second as I am in the UK now. But maybe I'll go for surprise the next time. I'm up for all experiences.

TwinklePants · 07/12/2010 11:41

Charleny , hope you come back and tell us what flavour you're getting Xmas Smile
