on ebay. I don't even really like christmas pudding plus my auntie always sends down a christmas pudding to have at mum and dad's. Have seen some going for £100+. I bought it to have boxing day with inlaws but am sure they'd be happy with a nice M&S one.

Have realised this is my second aibu in a day. This is the last one from me for a long time.

One had sold for £100 and another for £115. Several for £60-70.

I currently have 2 in the larder for a meal that we're all contributing too. Very tempting to flog them at those prices.

They look nice n'all, but, you know, it's a pudding!

kelly2525 · 28/11/2010 22:48

muminthecity · 28/11/2010 22:52

Hadn't even heard of these until now. One has sold today for £115! Plus £7 delivery Shock Crazy!

muminthecity · 28/11/2010 22:53

YANBU by the way!

onmyfeet · 29/11/2010 09:25

The one in the video MummyBerryJuice posted looked good, other than the orange in the centre, but I bet it gives it a nice flavour.
Not worth hundreds though, that is madness!

pointydog · 29/11/2010 09:27

Nothing wrong with selling on an over-priced pudding with face of a twat on it Grin

AgainMarjorie · 29/11/2010 09:28

YANBU but it might be a good idea to wait a couple of weeks...

senua · 29/11/2010 09:33

Remember the politician getting flamed for talking about a "so-called recession" ...? Maybe he was right.Hmm

ROFL @ candid orange.

lucy101 · 29/11/2010 09:38

The Telegraph has a recipe for one... but apparently the Lidl 2.99 Xmas pudding came out best in all the taste tests!

venusandmars · 29/11/2010 11:21

Maybe it's a bit like pyramid selling at the moment. Half the people paying £70 are hoping to sell it on later at an even bigger profit. When the music stops someone will be left with a very expensive pudding to unwrap.

Or perhaps it's like laying down expensive wine - you never actually consume it, just keep it from year to year with the price increasing...

I have experimented with making my own. Tasted lovely (if you like orange flavoured things) and was very juicy. Would make several more if people would pay £50 each for them Grin Grin

I personally wouldn't eat anything made by Heston Blumenthal. You'll probably find that the suet he uses is sourced from kittens or something...

Yes, think I'll just be getting mine from Lidl thanks for the tip Lucy! I'm the only person who seems to even like xmas pud in my family anyway...

LaurieFairyonthetreeEatsCake · 29/11/2010 13:50

I would pay £30 for it - it was on my Ocado shopping list til it sold out.

But I wouldn't pay a hundred. You should definitely flog it - why the hell not?!?

scogliera · 29/11/2010 14:15

No question here - just sell it. You'd be mad not too. I still regret not selling my England-Scotland rugby tickets years ago for massively over the odds. The game was rubbish, my seat was directly behind a post and it ended as a draw.

Anyway, isn't Heston's pud just a Christmassy Sussex Pond Pudding?

Bloodymary · 29/11/2010 14:24

WOW. I have one in the cupboard.
I bought it a couple of weeks ago and there was a whole shelf full, why didnt I buy more!!!

Bloodymary · 29/11/2010 14:32

Thereis one on there for £499.99 PLUS postage, surely it wont sell!!!

goodluck · 29/11/2010 14:38

That is madness!

I was going to get one of those. Shame. Maybe I will try making it.

LolaBellsAllTheWay · 29/11/2010 14:43

Yup sell sell sell, all 3 of them then pay for a spa day after xmas :)
