DP thinks I'm very unreasonable Grin

I don't play to the point of neglecting DC but would gladly neglect my own needs to have a go. Getting tricky now as we are doing very well in raids and getting more regimented, and I want to get better gear, etc.

Does anyone else play on here? How do you fend off your pissed off well meaning DP?

What realm are you on? Would love to know some 'real' people on there Grin

My DH and I both play WOW. We have computers next to each other and are in the same guild. Much more sociable than watching the TV! Haven't played much recently as we're waiting for Cat to come out.

confuddledDOTcom · 25/11/2010 23:21

I have an idea about DKs! It's been so long since I played Paladin now that I can't play it, when I was leveling my DK I didn't play Paladin at all and when I was 80 and thought I'd bring Pally to Northrend I couldn't do a thing with her.

That's why our guild does things off the cuff because then no one has to get fed up with herding cats.

Anniegetyourgun, you've reminded me of my Pally, I used to drive our friend mad (especially when he was sat opposite me!) by flirting with his minions (mostly his voidy and succubus) and my OH used to get wound up by it because he said that Paladins should not be flirting with demons!

5gig? Shock I'm not sure what else I can delete off the laptop! Maybe move my photos somewhere else (not that there's 5gig of them) I think I deleted all the other games on here... I need a new laptop... well we've had to postpone the wedding, so he could afford to buy me a new one and it's my big birthday next year...

MrsChemist · 25/11/2010 23:24

It's 5 gig for us because we haven't updated for about 10 months. The cataclysm patch is smaller :) worry not

MistsAndYellowSnow · 25/11/2010 23:37

DH used to play it when DS was a baby. It was fine at first because I would be downstairs BF him all evening (DS not DH) but he got rather too into it and soon started to not want to be away from the house on Saturday afternoons because of "raids" Hmm

I tried to play at one point and may be the only player to have fallen off the edge of a cliff and swum for days around the entire continent! I also fell off a hill into the Ungaro Crater which was full of monsters / dinosaurs much much harder than my character.

I also had a talent for finding towns and villages which were entirely populated entirely by rival factions. It was very embarrassing when instead of killing me these people would help me fend off death instead Blush

Now I drink wine for a hobby. It's more restful.

QuoththeRaven · 25/11/2010 23:47

My dh and i play wow. we're on the vek'nilash server ally side.

I'm a gm so find that sucks most of my time, organising fun little events etc. i wouldnt say we're addicted, but we do really enjoy it. Only go on once DS is in bed

Whats more fun is we got my mum and dad playing, so they're all in my guild :) It is pretty sad when we're all talking about the raid we went on though ><

Made some really good friends online as well, my closest friend online has a 1 year old daughter so we send each other presents etc for birthdays/xmas. Its really nice :)

cataclysm will be fantastic, cant wait to try out worgen, though i'm more looking forward to the guild achievements!

confuddledDOTcom · 25/11/2010 23:59

LOL Mists, I've been playing about 3 years and I still make silly mistakes like those. My friends joke that I have a problem with gravity and that I tend to run out of floor.

Kaloki · 26/11/2010 00:17

Not a WOW fan, used to be hooked on AoC though, till they brought out the expansion and it turned into a buggy mess. :(

Anniegetyourgun · 26/11/2010 09:39

MistsAndYellowSnow, drinking is much much more expensive than playing an online subscription game. It's also worse for your liver.

When you fall off high places, stand in a fire or cast a heal just too late - blame lag. It's what the true professionals do.

Trubert · 26/11/2010 09:56

I play wow a lot. The key thing is, so does my husband.

I think it can be a real problem when one half of a couple is into gaming, and the other is not.

When you are both at the same level of geekiness it becomes a fun hobby that you do together.

MrsChemist · 26/11/2010 10:02

I would play with DH, but, considering I've been playing for 5 years (with breaks) I've never had a top level character. Ever.
I just keep making new ones. I am a WoW failure. I blame being a shadow priest. No one wants me

MadBanners · 26/11/2010 10:23

Myself and Dh both play wow, since vanilla.

We have both cut down in the last couple of years, it took a back seat..but now both kids are going to bed about 7.30 pm..we have started playing more. Dh does casual raiding now..I have never been all that interested in raiding really since MC days, but then I have either been pregnant or had a little baby till recently.

We are not addicted, we play quite casually, and it is more social than sitting staring at a box in the corner of the room (which is quite acceptable it seems)

I even have my worgen name all saved....although was upset someone already saved TerryWorgen and WorgenFreeman!

We are on Dreaonr.

Ryoko · 26/11/2010 13:48

YABVU by lining the pockets of Bobby Kotick the most evil man in gaming who wants all gaming to be subscription based and DLC.

Stop supporting his evil reign of terror now, stop paying him money.

MissMarjoribanks · 26/11/2010 17:03

MadBanners - I'm on Draenor too, in a guild entirely composed of ex-members of an amdram society.

I'm going to see if I can get my fps over 10 so I can go and see this shattering.

MadBanners · 26/11/2010 19:59

MissMarjoribanks -- i have recently joined a new guild, as my old guild, that i had been in for years, has barely anyone online now!

My Main is lvl 80 mage, i struggle lvling alts! hate running around after being so used to being able to teleport..I am too lazy

Anniegetyourgun · 26/11/2010 23:18

Levelling is so quick nowadays though, especially if you have an 80 to support them. And you get a mount at 20. Young players today don't know their born etc etc grumble grumble.

Anniegetyourgun · 26/11/2010 23:18

they're born of course Blush

Keishara · 26/11/2010 23:24

I'm on terokkar - this is my nickname on WoW too so feel free to look me up :) my guild is always eager for new members. no holy priests though - don't want you stealing my lootz!

DP and I play together, it's our equivalent of going out with friends!

southeastastra · 26/11/2010 23:25

i heard its a bit moreish

would like to see more of it in real life

MadBanners · 26/11/2010 23:36

Anniegetyourgun -- oh indeed, i remember running the stockades endlessly to get my lvl 40 mount, when the defias renegade rings went for 10g a pop!

Just lvling a new char through all the new stuff in elwynn and westfall etc...very csi in westfall

Doodlez · 26/11/2010 23:39

This bloody, stupid, POINTLESS feckin GAME ruined my nephew's life and I'm not exaggerating.

AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

SunOverStars · 27/11/2010 00:27

Ooooh you all MUST see the Shattering, they've done a really good job of it.

Stormwind is the new place to be. Barrens and Ashenvale are very cool.

Raid-wise, my guild did Lich King tonight (found them - apparently they moved because our old GM went crazy and stole all 45k from the guild bank Shock) up to Phase 2. About a half hour long fight.

I can't wait as they've pencilled me in for raiding tomorrow

ISNT · 27/11/2010 15:37

lurve have been inspired to check out LOTRO - DH and I downloading it now for tonight Grin

The website is quite slow - I wonder if it is failing under the weight of trillions of MNers rushing to a recommended free MMORPG!

emptyshell · 27/11/2010 15:41

I nearly cracked and picked up Final Fantasy 14 yesterday - considering I know what a buggy pile of poo it was in beta but fancied a new MMO fix that's quite sad.

Currently play FF11 (the previous online one) and have done for years - beats telly most nights. Hubby also plays so doesn't cause problems in that respect - but I think it's a sad case of a game starting to reach the end of its lifespan sadly :(

ISNT · 27/11/2010 15:44

Have you tried LOTRO emptyshell?
