..mock chop and a buster...

Asteria · 21/11/2010 23:36

I am actually dribbling now...

Bellagio · 21/11/2010 23:37

saorachd- is a mock chop the same as a lamb choppie?
I don't know what a buster is mind

A1980 · 21/11/2010 23:38

I wouldn't want a battered and fried one but they are great microwaved. All warm and gooey!

cakewench · 21/11/2010 23:40

mm I shared one with DH. It was lovely. Not something I'd eat often, but I'm glad I tried it.

saorachd · 21/11/2010 23:40

Bellagio - yes it is sort of similar except the mock chop is only shaped like a chop. god knows what is in it.
a buster is chips and peas together.

tethersend · 21/11/2010 23:47

Thanks for link, auntie- I didn't dream it! In fact, it's almost word for word what I said. Brilliant Grin

poppyknot · 21/11/2010 23:47

I saw a story about a deep fried creme egg about 10 years ago...

saorachd · 21/11/2010 23:48

poppyknot · 21/11/2010 23:51

Oooh, yes please, poppyknot!

{been exiled to the west coast for too long]

LetThereBeRock · 22/11/2010 00:01

Sauce on chips in unnatural. Salt and vinegar is the only acceptable topping.

Bellagio · 22/11/2010 00:05

saorachd- lol we used to get lamb choppies at school but m not altogether convinced they contained anything remotely related to lamb.
Oldladyknowsnothing- you now have me drooling at the thought of chippy sauce! You can make it yourself by adding HP to vinegar but it's never quite the same!

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 22/11/2010 00:23

LetThereBeRock, I would have totally agreed with you until I met Edinburgh chippy brown sauce. That's just another experience.

Bellagio, I'm lucky enough that DS1 (grownup) was through in Edinburgh recently, and brought me back the Genuine Article. I have tried so many combinations of brown sauce and vinegar, can never get it right. Grin

thequimreaper · 22/11/2010 08:25

They used to do deep fried Mars bars by my school in Liverpool. They are delicious!

Saggyoldclothcatpuss · 22/11/2010 08:31

Climbs back into bed for an extra kip and to dream about deep fried heaven mars bars!

upahill · 22/11/2010 09:47

I was about to write word for word what BaroqueAroundTheClock posted at Sun 21-Nov-10 23:29:54!!

I was in Edinbugh for the Fringe and got pestered. I was quite self righteous saying ' no it's ok boys I won't bother' but ended up 'sharing' theirs! (i.e. half from each of them = a whole one for me!!)

JennyPiccolo · 22/11/2010 09:56

i had a haggis supper the other night, and irn bru from a glass bottle, icy cold.

Feel sorry for the English sometimes. And other nations that don't deep fry

JennyPiccolo · 22/11/2010 09:56

don't deep fry haggis.

sockmonkey · 22/11/2010 10:02

I had one. It was lovely, but left a film of fat in my mouth that lasted all day.

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 22/11/2010 14:40

lol upahill - they sound so revolting, but then when I saw them tucking in I just couldn't resisit.

Am off up to Edinburgh in 2 weeks - might have to buy myself a whole one Blush
