Why is the background music/sound effects on TV dramas these days so loud it drowns out the actors' voices?

Abs - I can explain the ticking in your room at night. After you switch off the light, the light bulb produces a ticking noise as it cools down!

Debenhams - Hot, Smelly perfume smell, christmas carols ..... arrrgh. For those of you employed there and have to put up with it till the season is over, wow you guys are superhuman to withstand it or are being punished for having done something awful.

Word - as excited as seeing a possible solution made me, it isn't that. It starts randomly around 4am. It sounds like an alarm clock but a) we don't have one and b) an alarm clock wouldn't normally start ticking like that, at random time (it would tick all the time, IYSWIM). It's doing my nut in.

agree with old people queue jumping and bagsying seats on the bus for their friends who are getting on in a bit. (I was pregnant FFS and got off before their friends got on)

Also old people who shop on a saturday, chatting to their friends while their trolley dolly things take up the whole aisle.
