Why is the background music/sound effects on TV dramas these days so loud it drowns out the actors' voices? Angry

OP posts:
Alouiseg · 21/11/2010 22:54

Dirty streets

Uncomfortable seats in the cinema, expensive sweets and drinks in the cinema, rebreathing other peoples air in the cinema.

Can you guess where I've been this evening?

whatdoiknowanyway · 21/11/2010 22:55

Re TV use subtitles. Also great for following a program whilst being pestered by playing with your kids.
DH is partially deaf so we've used them for years.

Agree about background music though- v annoying.

Pink cars.

ChristmasTrulyReigns · 21/11/2010 22:56

Illegal fonts on car registration plates.

ChristmasTrulyReigns · 21/11/2010 22:57

Steam cleaners that are a steamy as a squirel's sneeze.

Rockbird · 21/11/2010 22:58

People who drive up your arsehole on country lanes in the dark. If you know the pissing way, overtake me and let me follow you.

Yes shops with tropical temps

People who queue for the left hand side of the petrol pump. Live dangerously, bring the hose over the car to the other side!

My poxy kettle breaking just as the shops shut on a Sunday.

DH pleading with me to do a roast at 9pm at night, then sloping off to bed too tired to eat it.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 21/11/2010 23:00

Not being able to sleep.
Hot flushes
Not being able to sleep
Losing lighter so no cigs for kreech

saorachd · 21/11/2010 23:03

Our bin men arriving early on a Sunday morning.

Bastards.

nameymcnamechange · 21/11/2010 23:04

The Guardian Family Supplement (I read the Guardian, I have a Family - so why does it always fill me with rage?).

All packaging on all foods, but especially cheese.

"You're just jealous" posted in response to anyone disagreeing with or disapproving of anything on Mumsnet. It is the ultimate lazy, ignorant, stupid, kneejerk riposte and drives me insane when I see it.

ilovehens · 21/11/2010 23:05

why has Google hijacked my brand new laptop? Angry Angry Angry

ChristmasTrulyReigns · 21/11/2010 23:07

Artifical air fresheners. Bleurgh.

onceamai · 21/11/2010 23:07

Colleagues who persist in putting on fan heaters when I am flushing.

People who aks questions.

Flat pack furniture.

Trolleys that need a pound, have dodgy wheels and then you have to trail around the supermarket car park to find a trolley with same fitting to get back your pound.

Honeydragon · 21/11/2010 23:10

People in cars who are too important to stop at zebra crossings.

They are warm and dry.

I am cold and wet.

So why do I have to wait for the fucking bastards to cross??? Angry

It was daylight and they saw me and the bright red pram and decided I was happy in the rain .... oh yes.

ilovehens · 21/11/2010 23:11

12 year old boys who have a heightened sense of entitlement, rolling eyes and a voice like nails screeching down a blackboard!

onceamai · 21/11/2010 23:11

Political correctness
cold callers who ask me how I am today

onceamai · 21/11/2010 23:13

That leggings and boots are back and I'm not a size 10 anymore.

ilovehens · 21/11/2010 23:13

Males who can't look after themselves.

Cats who can't chase off the neighbour's cat who comes in to steal all their expensive cat food!

Goldfish who stare at me through their tank as if I haven't fed them for three weeks.

People who don't allow me any peace.

Honeydragon · 21/11/2010 23:19

People who remind me I am not a size 10 anymore Hmm Wink

Lynli · 21/11/2010 23:20

Getting up in the morning.

Listening to DH watch football, shouting at the screen and swearing.

UnquietDad · 21/11/2010 23:22

Agree about music on TV. IT's especially bad on "The Sarah Jane Adventures". With "Doctor Who" it varies, but it made a lot of the dialogue on the wartime Dalek story inaudible.

moondog · 21/11/2010 23:25

Honestly, life is so much more pleasant if you do away with tv altogether. I did years ago and live in blissful ignorance of the dross people talk about. (Why in the name of God would one want to fritter away hours of one's life watching other people learn how to dance?? I don't get it.)

Memoo · 21/11/2010 23:25

Why do we have to have such disgusting sound effects whenever anyone is kissing on TV, it makes me want to vomit listening to them slurping!!!

And why the fuck can't DH do a job properly! drys the pots but then leave random piles of them dotted around the kitchen instead of putting them away in the correct cupboard

BextheBambi · 21/11/2010 23:27

The fact that I get told I have roadrage when in actual fact everyone in Croydon drives like a cock.

When I ask DP to look for something he never finds it, yet all I have to do is walk in the room and I spot it.

UnquietDad · 21/11/2010 23:29

This reminds me of the group I saw on FB:

"I don't need Anger Management, I just need people to STOP PISSING ME OFF!"

Serendippy · 21/11/2010 23:36
