To think that for children in need the stars could dress respectfully?

Ok, I know I am being old fashioned but I just think that for children in need the celebs should think more about what they are performing for and could at least dress decently for it?

Pretty surprised at Alexandra Burke coming out in her underwear.

It's for children in need, not blokes in need.

have a pudsey Bear. or a pom Bear. or get your horlicks on and go to bed if you cant bear these young things shaking their thang for a good cause.

yabu.

SparklingExplosionGoldBrass · 19/11/2010 22:01

It's not aimed at children, though. It's aimed at adults, to make them get their credit cards out.

HerBeatitude · 19/11/2010 22:01

Oh I doubt if AB has much choice about what she has to wear.

I think you have to be porned up if you're a female singer nowadays.

onimolap · 19/11/2010 22:01

The charity which benefits is Children in Need, but the programme is for fundraising.

I suppose they're doing whatever they think will keep people watching and giving. And everyone knows the show gets much more adult in content post-watershed.

beebuzzer · 19/11/2010 22:02

I am a young thing thankyou Vicar, not that old and its not that I cant bear it, I dont usually give a damm what they wear, Just thinking that a lot of the audience are young kids.

LOL I thought you were talking about Take That and after that looking like Hobnobs or hobos on the X Factor thread, I was going to mildly assert that they looked a bit more groomed tonight. Grin

Grandma! I told you watching this would get you all irate come on now dear up to bed.

comewhinewithme · 19/11/2010 22:07

Although JLS could have pulled their trousers up Wink.

beebuzzer · 19/11/2010 22:09

omg I really am a grandma but at least I have some kind of set of standards which most people I know actually appreciate. But then we all keep different company don't we?!

Mollycat1 · 19/11/2010 22:09

I kind of thought that what they are wearing is inappropriate as yes it is aimed at adults but I know alot of children are settling down to watch the first coule of hours.

Cheryl Coly, Kylie and Alexandra Burke were all flashing their backsides. I dont mind later in the evening but to kick off the night in your knickers is just not on.

comewhinewithme · 19/11/2010 22:10

Hahahahahah have a Biscuit to go with your cocoa.

DiscoDaisy · 19/11/2010 22:11

Normally I would say that if it's after the watershed then anything goes but I know lot's of people who are letting their children stay up later because it is Children in Need.

Feenie · 19/11/2010 22:12

I get you, YANBU.

spaceman · 19/11/2010 22:15

I see your point op. I'm beginning to think a cover up revolution must be on the cards in the next ten years. We've got to the stage that women - only women - wear increasingly revealing clothes as a routine, even if they have bad figures. IMO Alexandra is too fat to wear that and the presenter has bandy legs and should really be wearing a knee length pencil skirt, which would flatter her better. But who am I to judge?

beebuzzer · 19/11/2010 22:17

Thanks Space, you decent old chap/chapess [:)]

Yes how comes take that aren't expected to come out in their underwear?

My DD picked that up - she commented that they're all fully dressed.

megapixels · 19/11/2010 22:30

I didn't watch most of it but caught the bit with Alexandra Burke. It really did look like she'd forgotten to put on her clothes and walked out in her underwear. I think it's more a question of taste than modesty, I'm wondering who in their right mind would think that was a good look.

spaceman · 19/11/2010 22:31

Chapess :)

I get a bit fed up of wearing the 'prudish' badge, when I simply object to bad taste. Women don't half let themselves down when they allow themselves to be pushed into tarty clothes by their media peers. Nothing wrong with flaunting your best assets, but it's becoming a case of less is more all the time now. It just has to revert back at some point . There is hardly a woman on the tv that is portrayed as some sort of sex icon. It bores me stupid.

beebuzzer · 19/11/2010 22:36

It does get boring. Maybe it will get to the point where men start wanting to nurture their imaginations a bit and more will be more! Hmm

HerBeatitude · 19/11/2010 22:42

oh there's always people who will say it's about prudishness.

No it's not. I'd be perfectly happy for AB and KM to be half nekkid if Take That and JLS were too.

More than happy. Grin
