To be annoyed at how someone was wearing a poppy

Aibu I went shopping to the supermarket this morning and one of the staff was wearing a poppy in her hair as a fashion accessory. I think it's great that young people wear poppys to show respect but I found this disrespectful wearing it as a fashion accessory

aibu?

I don't think it's competitive poppy-wearing that we see on TV. I think on each show there's some poor runner who's sole function during these two weeks is to make sure that absolutely nobody appears on their show without a poppy. They're all terrified of being flamed by the Daily Mail/Express for 'not caring'.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of MNers, I have to admit....I haven't bought or worn one at all! I didn't even know why there were so many poppies around at the moment! Was there a minute's silence? I had completely forgotten it was that time of year again....Confused

Maybe im wrong, but hey,
I don't really think The millions of people worked/working or being supported by RBL poppy fund give a fig on where anyone chooses to put their poppy.
I think most of them would laugh at you TBH.
Stop being so unnecessarily offended.

Are they not most often pinned to a jacket/top/dress? just like a broach? I thought so Hmm
