The guy who played Guss in eastendres, his real life girlfriend was pregnant without knowing, she was at a premiere two weeks before giving birth, looking very fabulous.

I will try to find the pic

At 36 weeks pg I had to go in for obs as I was in a bit of pain. Across the ward from me was another woman who I struck up a conversation with - who was 39 wks pg.
Is turned out the woman (who I am happy to say is now a good friend of mine) didn't find out she was pg until she was 23 wks. I asked her did she have any symptoms but she said at age 45, her periods had stopped (so she thought!), she was gaining weight and didn't feel 'right' but the doctor thought it may be the menopause and sent bloods off for tests to check for hormone levels but came back as normal. She was told to do a pregnancy test, just to rule it out, which came back as negative.
A few weeks later she said she still felt 'iffy' so went back to the doctor who said they could feel a 'mass' in her abdomen. She was then sent back to hospital for a scan. Worried it was something sinister she was cacking herself somewhat.

I suppose you can imagine her astonishment when the 'mass' turned out to be a baby.
What makes her story all the more fantastic is that she had had failed IVF attempts a few years previously.

I suppose if you have never been pregnant - you don't know what pregnancy symptoms feel like anyway - and she had got to a point in her life where in her mind babies were off the agenda anyway as there was no possibility that she could get pregnant. So those 'pregnancy symptoms' could be mistaken/ passed off/ explained away as something else.

My friend and I were having this conversation a few weeks ago and we both agreed as having 2 dc each it's impossible not to know you are pregnant.
The next week she went to the doctor as she had a water infection to find out she is 24 weeks pregnant.
She has no bump, no symptoms, can't feel the baby move and is still having periods.

loubeedoo When did you start showing? Did you feel any movement right towards the end of the pregnancy?

nappyaddict · 17/11/2010 03:45

Oh and when did you start putting on weight? (Obviously you didn't put much on if your clothes size stayed the same - did they get even a little bit tighter?)

Sorry meant to say that's in reference to your pregnancy with DS1.
